Destiny's Gamemodes, ViDoc image speculation!

Link to Destiny Reveal ViDoc I like speculation, let's get to it. If you haven't expanded the image I posted already, I suggest you do so. Based on this image, it seems that you're able to party up with your friends (squads) before you're technically "in game", you know, running around on a planet shooting stuff. Basically, you're in a lobby together (or they might call it a spaceship) similar to Bungie's Halo games. You're able to select what you'd like to jump into for your Destiny session.
The City More than likely the social hub "safezone" where you aren't fighting against other players. This isn't a place for combat, it's for socializing, meeting other players, trading loot and other items and making plans with fellow Destiny players. (this is also where you go into 3rd person) Chapter Your main quest. IE - "Campaign" mode. 1st person, start shooting stuff. Bounty Think "challenges". Remember in Reach how we had cR rewards for completing challenges? I think this is similar in that you can get together with your buddies and see if you'd like to complete a challenge for rewards/loot. Notice the 2 stars as well, might indicate difficulty level. Strike I'm thinking smaller scale PvP battles. Your "social" playlists of Destiny. You're able to play various multiplayer gametypes within Destiny and play against other players to win these games. We have no idea how Destiny plays or if 4v4 is still the "sweet spot". Raid Cooperative raids for you and your buddies against AI. Think larger battles here though. Perhaps you might need multiple squads of 6 to work together to complete these types of missions. More so, "large scale objectives against AI". Faction Wars PvP, large scale battles, multiplayer. Think invading planets with vehicles, tons of players and lots of battle. Party up with your squad and do your best to contribute to the faction you've choose to represent.
Out of sheer speculation I have also pointed out that there are two other tiles underneath that may (or may not) represent more game-modes in Destiny. These are just my thoughts, what do you think each of these game-modes represent?

They said that there will be no main menu. I have a feeling the 'menu' you saw in the ViDoc was just a placeholder for information, and not an actual part of the game. I have a feeling going to seperate parts of the game is going to have something to do with the stargate looking gates in (possibly) the main city. Just a little speculation of my own. EDIT: Sudden realization! This picture's fauna looks an awful lot like the picture of the Guardians fighting the Vex. This gate is probably an entrance to their huge castle/fortress. So... I take back my earlier speculation! There may be a menu that looks like that. I'm sorry I didn't realize that before posting this :P.

  • The only think i think might be different are the bounties. I believe those will be side quests given by NPCs. When Bungie did their press release Staten said he had gotten the money for his ship by completing bounties for The Queen of the Reef on Venus. I think challenges will be more passive, like in Reach.
