Towards the end if the movie, when Lucius Fox is talking to the scientists about The Bat and what he could have done to fix it, the scientists ask why he's "asking about the stabilization when the entire auto-pilot is obsolete," why does he ask about the stabilization? Does he or someone make mention of it during an earlier point in the movie? Why is it important to begin with?

Earlier, Lucius informed Wayne that the bat had no functional auto-pilot system. I guess the main focus of the scene was that sometime inbetween, Wayne had fixed the system and Fox realises that Wayne could have jettisoned out of The Bat before nuclear destination.
