Is your neighborhood falling victim to gentrification? What city is it in? And what do you miss about the old hood?
My neighborhood has always been rich and white
-
Arise!
-
Meh. This video reeks of super-hipster garbage, and wasn't even that entertaining. Why is this thread in the "popular" column?
-
thrift shopping everywhere.
-
So, hipster takeover?
-
In short: lolhipsters
-
lol This video is brought to you by East Austin.
-
I live in the middle of nowhere, there's no neighbourhood to worry about.
-
Na it's fine in Birmingham UK...I think...........................................................
-
Nope, I live in a safe and secure suburb populated by old white people :D
-
I haven't seen much of any of that going on, so I think it's safe to say my city is safe. I can only hope it stays that way.

Edited by An Eagle Flying A Blimp: 3/18/2013 2:38:33 AMMeh... The newcomers in my area tend to be the rich/wealthy who are driving the middle class to a cheaper area... most commonly South Carolina. In other news: The lines at Starbucks have never been shorter :)
-
I live in Orange County, CA. some of these apply all around, some of them don't. The area I live in though has only been populated for roughly 20 years now, and it's pretty remote. Most of the things in the video do not apply to my area.
-
Nope my town is pretty safe.
-
Nope, I live in a gated community far from the damned city.
-
Seeing as I live in a village in the richest part of Wales, and go to school in the poshest town in Wales, any hipsters in the area are treated like they're from the ghetto. If you're dad doesn't drive a BMW or a Range Rover, you're considered poor in my area.
-
Dah crap.
-
I live in the burbs so no Hipsters have taken over here.
-
I don't think I understood any of that. Too edgy-ish or something. My town is less than 2,000 people. My graduating class was under 120 people, 31 years ago. None of what was in that video pertains to anything I would recognize here daily. Even the city we live just 10 minutes from, the 2nd largest in the state, sure things are always changing and expanding, but I never darken the doorways of places that look like what that vid had in it. I'd say the only thing I have noticed killing of the old neighborhoods is strip malls.
-
Nope, I live in a small town.
-
Nope.
-
Cardiff, which is the city about 20 minutes away from me is going through gentrification. My local area however is not.
-
what was that?
-
that channel is terrible.
-
Not at all. I live in a small ass town in a small ass state.
