My favorite weapon is Chillrend.
Apart from having the most badass sounding name ever, it looks visually awesome, and has a nice frost effect too.
Always my preferred sword of choice in both games.

Bloodskaal Blade. A great sword that shoots MAGIC LASERS!!!!!

Oblivion: Dragonsword Of Lainlyn. Skyrim: Glass Sword. Clean design. Good shade of green that contrasts surprisingly well with the gold hilt.
-
Oblivion: Umbra, because it's awesome. Skyrim: Dawnbreaker, because fiery explosions.
-
I'm a fan of dawnbreaker or just the standard elven sword. Dawnfang will always be the best Oblivion sword.
-
Dawnbreaker or the Ebony Blade
-
I like all of the starting weapons and armour, as soon as I start seeing people running around in shiny weird looking armour I actually stop enjoying the game. Steel Sword, because it's a sword and not an ornamental piece of crap.

Steel Sword. One of my least favorite things about the Elder Scrolls is how the weapons and armor get so ridiculous looking at a higher level. In general, their weapon design is pretty silly, a system where your Steel Sword is weaker than your Mithril Sword which is weaker than your Adamant Sword which is weaker than your Rune Sword is pretty crude and uncreative. I much prefer weapon design in RPGs like Dark Souls where each weapon has it's own shape, name, attack patterns, and feel to it, rather than just being reskins with higher stats.

Edited by ale009: 9/16/2013 11:04:12 AMI can't remember the name of it but you get it if you do a mission where you are collecting relics and then putting them together to a knife that has a small possibility to insta-kill, I've upgraded it really much and it's awesome to insta-kill dragons
-
Well what I played, my favourite was deadra great sword. Two handed. Just loved it!
-
My favorite weapon is my handmade iron dagger. I do the damage cap. ( My iron dagger has 10000+ damage rating, but the most damage you can actually do is close to 4000)
-
Blade of woe
-
Oblivion: Umbra Skyrim: Dawnfang/Duskfang
-
I'm not sure about swords but the best (and probably most powerful) weapon EVER in any TES game is probably the Ebony Arrow of Slaying. For it was crazy powerful
-
Oblivion: Dawn/Duskfang Skyrim: Dragonbane. It's a basic katana, sure, but lightning runs along the blade whenever you pull it out. And the extra damage against dragons is fun

-
How come my chilldrend doesn't look that cool?
-
Viscous Bastard from the Viscous Weapons mod. In vanilla Skyrim, it's probably Dawnbreaker.
-

-
Dawnbreaker is where its at.
-
I've only ever found chillrend in my old profile, where is it?
-
Bloodskal Blade I mean it's a two handed sword that shoots laser waves when you power attack. How is that not awesome?
