Introduction, How to use Halo: Custom Edition

Halo Custom Edition is a free addition to your Halo pc game. As long as you have a Halo pc disk and product key, you will be able to install Halo CE as with no delays. If you do not have a Halo pc product key, you can do a quick search on YouTube to find some. Be Warned that most of these keys have already been used and you will NOTbe able to play online, you will only be able to test maps offline. After installing, you will have all of Halo pc's default maps, without campaign. An excellent source of new maps Is halomaps.org, where you will find hundred of community made maps. If downloading from halomaps.org, the downloaded maps will be in a zip file. Contained within the zip file will be a halomaps readme, a readme from the author of the map, and a .map file. Extract the folder wherever you wish and then locate your Halo Custom Edition directory (for xp users, located in Program Files, for Windows 7 users, located in Program Files (x86) and open up your maps folder. Inside, you may recognise the names of some of the default Halo pc maps. This is where you will transfer your .map file to. Once this is completed, start Halo Custom Edition, and open Multiplayer. You will notice your new map listed below the default maps. Select your new map to play!
