So what would you want in a PC Halo 3.
Here's mine
-Same basic graphics but better lighting, textures, and AA.
-Full Mod support
-Server Browser, and it will download custom content from server.
-ODST expansion included
-Better map editor
-Optimized
-It is on Steam so people will actually buy it.
Anything else, or thoughts about a PC version?

I'm a pc and console gamer but I think halo 3 should remain an exclusive for the 360 but that's just my opinion

Cleanup Mod for halo3. dreams...

Master Chief wearing assless chaps.

NO MOUSE ACCELERATION! That's by far my biggest concern.

Edited by Arbiter 739: 2/4/2013 4:06:01 AMHmm. Well the minimum would have to be Halo 3, I would definently want Halo 3 in my PC port of Halo 3. From there we can get modders to make the game better! On another note: A map maker similar to Halo 2 (PC)'s, and player-hosted servers. Edited by Pfhunkie: 2/3/2013 10:59:02 PM(Warning: I originally posted the first part of this here on another forum by the name of OpenCarnage.net) Before anyone hops in here talking about why it's so stupid to believe Microsoft would ever put the Halo titles on Steam, hear me out: In the case of both Combat Evolved and Halo 2, all versions of both of these games are going to be out of production soon with no official downloadable version. Putting them on Steam where almost every PC game is bought now with about 5 million users on daily would be a good idea for Microsoft. It would be a waste for them, in a business perspective, to let these titles go to waste when they could still be making money off of it. You then go towards thinking "Well, why don't they put it on the Microsoft Store instead?" That's where the discussion on Halo 3 begins. Obviously Microsoft would want to push the Microsoft Store by adding Halo 3 PC to it, right? They totally haven't tried that before. Oh wait. *Looks over at Halo 2 Vista* Yeah, that worked out extremely well for them, right? I'm sure they've realized there's no fighting Steam. Putting the original trilogy out on PC in full with the new Xbox coming out this year would be an awesome way to keep the legacy of Halo alive. It also wouldn't be directly competing with the new Xbox this way. You could also say there's no real interest in Halo on PC anymore but, from my perspective, this news story is blowing up. You have two separate unannounced brand new titles on that list yet Halo 3 PC seems to be the main story in the media as of right now. Simply put, it makes a hell of a lot more sense to do than people are giving it credit for. As for what I want from Halo 3 on PC: - Proper netcode - Dedicated servers (Possibly matchmaking on the side) - Complete mod support with H3EK and an in game download like HAC2. (or like any Valve game) - Lots of graphical options. - Field of view slider. If I'm stuck with what Halo 3 on Xbox had I'm not even buying the game. - ODST would be nice.

Edited by ZealotSG: 2/4/2013 1:07:51 PM-foster a modding community -a Halo 3 version of SparkEdit (which is superior to Forge) -a Halo 3 version of Eschaton (which is basic awesomeness, not as good as Custom Edition but much better than HMT) -campaign checkpoint management like in Halo PC -campaign pause menu should have separate save and quit options -campaign pause menu should have revert to 2nd last checkpoint option. Dying 5 times for that to happen is annoying. Why didn't they put in the menu in the first place?! -separate audio and music volume control -level of detail option like in Halo 2 Vista -anti-aliasing support -FoV option (if they're too bad to implement a slider, then give us the choice between CE, ODST, Reach, and Halo 2/3 FoV) -turning on/off individual HUD elements -adjusting HUD color -new skulls -no more restarting the mission when turning on/off skulls -extended levels -ODST extension -new levels -DLC levels -funny alternate ending for failing the Hog run -an on-screen timer for the Hog run -a skull that makes the Grunts less ugly by using updated CE/H2 models

Edited by Wyldfyre: 2/4/2013 10:53:00 AMEverything in the OP. Also more armour/customisation. Either modded or official, BUT PLEASE NOT FROM THE SAME PEOPLE WHO DESIGNED THE REACH + H4 ARMOUR.

What was back in Halo 3 during 2008-2009

Edited by wazups2x: 2/4/2013 9:33:50 AMThe two most important for me are: 1. 1:1 mouse movement (NO mouse acceleration, negative accel, smoothing, dead zone, etc... NO mouse filters at all!) 2. Adjustable Field of View. At least up to 90 degrees horizontal.

A couple of new exclusive maps, like they did for H2V. That would make the game really playable. Imagine a Sandbox 2.0...
-
Pretty much everything you said. If it actually was released on Steam I'd buy it again for sure.

new armor possibly

New content for the game.

A good community

My biggest wish for Halo 3 PC is for it to not exist. I don't have to worry though as Microsoft wants Halo to be Xbox exclusive. I know the PC community can do a ton of cool things but I don't even like Halo 3 so I'd hardly care about any of the mods and whatnot.

Edited by Sven: 2/3/2013 10:55:38 PMI'll tweak out if ODST shows up on steam. I hope this comes to fruition.

Edited by MoonDawg: 2/3/2013 7:38:55 PMI would love to see it, but it will never happen. It would have to stay the same though. Armor abilities would absolutely ruin it.
