•
Posted by: modified "..demand exceeding 450,00 units, ..” Should that be 45,000 or 450,000? My hope is 45,000, but I just wanted to be sure. If there's half a million of these things, then it's hardly a limited item.
Shhhh.. Don't tell anyone that!
Posted by: Sephirothazule I still don't understand the facination in the legendary edition. While the helmet is cool, I can bet that within a few months the helmet will become nothing more than a dust magnet simply because there aren't enough uses for it. Being a fan of dust magnets, $130 is a bit much. I buy special editions for extra content (which people will probably post online), not items that will fit on a cat. I dunno, I think it is a cool idea, however, not cost efficient. None the less Halo 3 is going to rock!
If you are Microsoft, it's an incredible idea. Especially if the demand for this thing exceeds 450k units. I think the number could be a bit high, considering many of these preorders were made under the assumption the Legendary Package would only cost $99. Microsoft loses most money on the game itself. Marketing. Development. Tiajuana Mamas (sp?). A very small portion of the $60 price tag is actually profit for these publishers. A great way to build up some extra cash flow is through the sale of collector edition box sets, and Legendary type packages. Let's be real here, these helmets are cheap, and Microsoft is a whore for money. At least they give a lot of it to charity, and employee a lot people all over the world. I guess it could be worse. I'll be picking up the $70 dollar edition. [Edited on 03.25.2007 12:42 AM PDT]
