NBA player Gilbert Arenas cheating at Halo 3

Cheater Look at all his games that he gets 1st place in. He joins up with a friend and has his other account quit out so he gets 1st place every time. How can this be allowed? My last words on this subject Live 08 sucks<<<<<<<<<2k8.... •
Posted by: MC187
Posted by: The BIack Death
Posted by: Kid Ali LOL. I had to post in this forum, just to laugh at this idiocy. Check his game, and if you follow basketball, most of the games he played, conflicts with the preseason games he played. Did it ever dawn on you, that it might be someone else on his account? I also laughed at the post " Checking if Team Final Boss cheats. " Oh man good stuff. You guys go out of your way to single out one person who is boosting rank in socials, because he plays basketball professionally, and sponsors FB. But you guys won't say a word when Sniper35KY lags you out in a ranked team slayer match. I highly doubt ESPN would even care to notice what a small community of angry nerd gamers have to say about an established multi millionaire cheating in a video game. This is funny, keep it up.
This person is completely and absolutely right.
Your opinion doesn't matter in this thread. Your just the guy in this thread trying to get attention by taking the extreme argument against what this is all about. The guy is cheating on Halo 3 while other player are actually playing hard to earn their ranks. It's wrong. Don't live.
Sorry guys, OP fails at life and needs to leave the internet permanently.

 • Y'all taking this -blam!- waaaaaaaay too serious... It's just a game, I know this, GA knows this and y'all know this too... I he "cheats", leave him do it... The way he did it doesn't affect anyone but himself... If he's good as he says he is, he'll whoop most of y'all asses, regardless if he boosted his stats or not... And if he isn't, than he'll get his ass whooped... You get more of a bonus for beating someone that high... And bragging rights at that... Everybody's over-reacting about something so trivial, like y'all aint got nothing else to do... Looking like drama queens and -blam!-... Like you never cheated to get any achievements (If the shoe fits, wear it) Yo GA, keep doing your thang on and off the courts, don't let these people put you down... Be you....

 • I think most people issue here is that he did it this way. He is a 40 something number rank so no one is denying that doesn't show some skill. I think eveyones problem is the way he got most of his EXP if he is this "Beast" of a player and as good as he says (and seems to possibly be) and everything else he should get EXP like the honest person would. Cause if he is as good as he seems to be the EXP would come just as easy, and I think for most people it means alot more to have that rank knowing you worked hard and kicked some butt, or at least kicked some butt. • Well Faded you would be wrong. It's not out of hate an anger. Sorry, I'm just not impressed as much as you when people have a lot of money. 5000 jerseys? That's 5 bucks to him. If it made someone happy, I would give them 5 bucks as well. I never said I hated the guy, I'm just showing clear conflicts between someone who idolizes him, and someones true self. You apparently don't understand that. I can't help you with that. People that rich give away money so they can write it off on taxes. I don't know the guy, I'm not saying he does, but don't be so naive to believe the image they give you. Really I wasn't ripping him for cheating at a video, it was what he did after. There is no doubt that he acted like a child, blaming others, calling other people out because they exposed him. Come on, you can't see that? If you can't fine, you can make a golden idol of him in your living room and worship him. If that's what you want to do fine, but don't try to force me to put him on a pedestal. A lot of the things you said about him could be said about me, well not the basketball part, but over coming adversity, working hard, all of that pertains to every one of us. You're just trying to make a case about him because his adversities are public knowledge. You think his trails and tribulations are that much worse than everyone else's that we should make him the example. Like I said, I could care less about Arenas. You apparently do, and that's fine, but don't expect me too. And don't try to persuade me by using his famous status, and his background that everyone knows . Who's to say that my story isn't better? That I don't work harder. Who's to say other guys on here are the exact same way. Your argument doesn't fly, and yet you don't see it. Give me that same money and that same fame, and I would do the same thing. So would you. Why does that make Arenas so much better? Why does that give millions of people the right to defend a man who only sees his actions, yet actually don't know them. These are the same people who talk online with someone and think they're in love and they're going to get married. Can't you see that? Haven't you experienced the difference between what people show you, and what people really are? If not, then you are lucky. No, nothing you say will make me like, or hold Arenas up to a iconic level. I would be more impressed if he gave it all away, no that would be a real sacrifice.

 • He sounds like an amazing guy but as it stands, he abused a glitch on a game. Whether he gets punished or not is up to bungie but one thing is for sure, they reallllly need to fix that glitch! Edit: Remember people, someone ghostwrites his blog... [Edited on 10.13.2007 9:38 AM PDT]

 • "Oh I know, Arenas is such a better person then the rest of us? He can shoot hoops, and he's famous and makes lots of money. I attribute this kind of talk to all the Zombie Americans out there. They cling onto anything shiny and think they're apart of it. It's apparent that Arenas doesn't give a damn about his fan base. Why would you call out just one guy on your blog? He is of course famous. Which means, his blog could do a lot more damage to one person than a hundred here on bnet. Again another act of cowardice. Why just not apologize, or just skate around the issue? Instead he says, I'm cheating, you suck and I don't care, also blame the 10 year old that told me how to do it. It's that kids fault. Yet here you are acting like you're big pals with him because you see him on TV." I guess I dont count then (about the Zombie Americans" comment"). I fell in love with the guy (no ho.mo) because of how he acts on and off the court. You should've known by now that of course Gilbert will bite back. Maybe you just got so used to seeing other NBA stars act like perfect people infront of the public and media. Gilbert's a whole different person, a guy your average Joe can actually relate to. A guy who millions of people fell in love with for the same reasons I posted above. And about himm not giving a damn about his fanbase? Can you be anymore bias? "This thread became more than just a report about a cheater. It became a thread to argue what cheating is, and where we should draw the line, in gaming and in life. So many people like you on this thread can't comprehend what that means because you're blinded by the flashy lights on TV. What really makes a real hero, or idol, isn't how good you are at putting down j's. It's how you conduct yourself, how you treat other people, it's the intangibles that you carry with you. It is obvious that Mr. Arenas has a problem with this issue. How many people in his situation do charity because if they didn't the news would rip him a new one? Even in your life, there is probably one person who just continues to give, and after a while you have to think, is this person being truly generous or is this person making them self feel better. The later would be selfish. " Draw the line huh? Like I've said, This is a guy who was a mere 2nd round draftee who gained stardom through HARDWORK. A man who wants to buy the 756th ball to prevent Marc Ecko from having the ball marked with an asterisk (which will symbolize how professional baseball is now tainted by a man who achieved the record by taking roids.) out of pure respect to all professional sports. Selfish? - This is a guy who gave away 5000 jerseys to fans who helped donate money ($25) for his Zero2Hero Charity Foundation - This is a guy who gives his jersey 82 times in all 82 games. - This is a guy who currently plans to get together with a company to build 1 million homes in 10 years among other charitable endeavors. - This is a guy who donates $100 dollars to a school for every point he makes in a game (all 82 games). - This is a guy who personally bought canned goods and personally drove it to an evacuation center in D.C. after the Katrina incident. - This is a guy who adopted a kid after his family died in a fire. Some of those you dont hear from the radio or see from T.V. "Now I'm not here to say that I hate him, or that he should die, or be perma banned. I'm saying that all this boosting is cheating, and all cheaters not just Arenas should have the same consequences. His conduct even in this minute incident really would make me call into question his character as a person. Before you start yelling, it's not just from the boosting, it's what happened after. Now he will try to start another wave with people like you to take his side, it's simple human nature to protect who you are. I find it funny that all the little automatons that keep coming in here and posting outrageous comments. Like I care if you call me a nerd, or to get a life. What is Arenas anyways? He just a dude who entertains the people in the world that do the real work. It's not his money, it's our money he's giving away anyways. It's his fans money who pay him. People like you forget this, and obviously wouldn't come up with it yourself. " First your rip him on this cheating thing in a Video game which not many people would even consider an exploit of the game, now you're personally attacking the man? I'm pretty sure your comments are made out of hate and anger. And I'll pay $ for someone to entertain me anyday, no matter who it is. Especially when watching a good game of football or basketball after a tiring day of school and partime job. I'm actually glad that he donates some of the money he's earned through us. Money well spent on my part.

Recon...FR to play sometime this week, old bean?
He voiced his views and offered an explanation in his own words. The validity, motivation, and sincerity of the statement is (as it should be) up to the reader to determine. He did something, someone questioned it, he has responded. Now those who have the interest or desire to form an opinion can do so. As for me, I have enough information to form an opinion about the situation. I am a little disappointed that no comments were made on the pro-gamer aspect of this story. But that silence (to me) is also a sort of response. And until I have additional information, I will use that to form my opinion on that portion of the issue. Personally, most of my questions have been answered and I now feel comfortable in forming an opinion. [Edited on 10.13.2007 9:08 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: J0A0 FUNNY no matter what you do to this guys halo career he is still going to have millions more than you on a daily basis...
True. But I don't understand how a large bank balance should immunize someone from being questioned for their actions. Or fame, or name, or family history, or public position, or anything. If someone does something, then they should be able to explain their reasoning and what they have done. We all have to do it every day. No one is, or should be exempt from being accountable. Some of us have a smaller circle of who we are accountable to. For some members, it is just their friends, their family, their school and not much else. For those of us who are older, we are accountable to family, friends, financial institutions, legal responsibilities, our employer, and so on. For those who accept (and benefit from) being in the public eye or being a celebrity, they have one additional audience to whom they may need to explain themselves. The public. I'm not jealous nor envious of Mr. Arenas. From my perspective, he is a successful and talented man who is benefiting from his hard work and God-given talents. But I was interested to see his reasoning for his actions. To help me to understand how he saw the issue and justified his choices. He has done so. And now, with that information, members of the public (who he benefits from each and every day) can each make their own decisions as to their opinion of him, his actions and his reasoning. Why would his income be a factor?

 • The most interesting part of his response is that he says "it doesn't matter, I'm still top 30 in the world." He then links to a world top-30 that ranks people by EXP points, the very thing he cheated to get! (and by the time I read the article, they had removed him from the list because of his boosting...too bad Bungie doesn't have the pairs to do the same.) I would also like to point out that his 42 rank probably isn't legit, because (as Arenas hinted at in his blog response) he probably just has his Final Boss players boost him there by playing on his account. Bungie might as well scrap the entire EXP medal process, as 1) it has both been exposed as fatally flawed and 2) they have basically given anyone that wants to boost to get EXP a free pass. Such a joke. I never had any faith in Arena's intelligence or sense of morality (based on his -blam!-ing after he couldn't make Team USA basketball), but I AM disappointed in Bungie's lack of either a response or a change in the system. ROFL, put his reputation at risk to who? A bunch of nerdy gamers who most likely haven't even seen a game of NBA? LOL, I doubt he'd care. Gilbert's fame really grew during the summer. And I doubt he'd lose even a third of his fanbase just because he "cheated" in H3 (which he recently talked about in his latest blog posted today), at the end of the day, outside of this message boards, nobody really cares. And LOL, who's the dumbazz that said he takes roids? I hope you're sarcastic because EVERYONE knows Gil's got to where he's at out of hardwork, the guy's basically the face of Adidas' Campaign "Nothing is Impossible". Do research before you post ranodm -blam!-. PS: MC187, Congrats, Gilbert mentioned u in his Blog! ROFL. He humiliated you, but hey, u got mentioned in his BLOG! You must be so damn proud of yourself. ROFL Well damn, I'd rather stay quiet than having a NBA star talk ill of me. "And MC187, you get the bonus prize. This is your five days of fame.
