How wou8ld you be able to maintain that situation? If one country decided "Hey, we want power" (and there always will) then the other countries would fall without any chance to defend themselves. I have another question: should America not have played "cops" when Iraq invaded Kuwait? The current situation is different I admit, but the situation in Iraq for the average citizen is little better than it had been. Remember that mass grave they found? That's the sort of thing we are attempting to prevent.
