Game Crashes and gliches... what's the weirdest one you encounted?
The most embarising aspects of games development for Games Developers are crashes... and the most annoying aspects of games for gamers are, well, crashes and glictches.
The weirdest glitch I encounted was on Hidden & Dangerous. On the Canyon level I had a team member go through the Mat mesh of the map and land in the 3D build enviroment and it fell on an endless drop. And kept going to the bottom of the 3D enviroment and then drop down from the top again through the map and into the abiss again. I had to Reset the PC to stop it!

The best glitch I encounted was done on purpose. I opened a door on one of the levels on Halo single player and managed to drive a Gost into the compound before the door closed. Inside the compound the area was too small for the camera to follow the Gost inside the polygons of the level so it started to flote outside the level and I could see everything from above. I then drove the Gost through a door and got off it as the door closed. When it closed and I got off, instead of falling to the ground it just stayed there hoisted in mid air harf way through the door. I then added an extra punch to the funny event and decided to clim back on the Gost and I started blasting covernant through the door and the door protected me on one side, as the Gost had its weapons a blasting on the other. My X-box made some funny noises when I did this so I quickly turned it off and told myself I would never do that again. [Edited on 6/30/2004 2:35:43 PM]
