Halo novel "The Flood"

So with Halo 4 fast approaching ive been trying to read all the halo novels before release. I should of started with Contact Harvest but im going in the order of release. I already finished Fall of Reach and im almost done with First Strike. I skipped The FLood because I kept hearing it was just Halo CE in book form. Does it add anything to the game or have any other information I would need to be worth reading? And lastly, what books spoil Halo 4's story because I want to go into it knowing almost nothing. • The Flood goes into much more detail about what happens to Keyes as well as the other Marines on the ring. I think it's actually a really interesting expansion of the first game's events. Especially the description of Keyes' battle with the Gravemind. Although, that was adapted into Halo CEA as a terminal, so hey. You can skip it if you want to. Also, I've been listening to the Forerunner Saga in audiobook form in preparation for Halo 4. Somehow I feel like it'll be better going into it with understanding of what's going on in the game.
