A New Game

I feel like getting a new game for PC, so far I only really have 4 that stand out. I've got Minecraft (which I play the living H out of), AC: Revelations (Can't wait for 3), COD: Black Ops (ZOMBEHS!), and Portal 2 (SPAAAAAAAAAACE). I want to add a new game to my collection, one that I will play a lot. One with tons of replay value. Preferably one with a good community behind and modding support. I've got your standard games for the Xbox, but the PC games are the ones that stand out and I play the most. I have been thinking ARMA 2 for DayZ, other than that I'm not sure what to get. I want to be able to say I have no regrets about making that purchase.

  • I don't recommend getting ARMA 2 just for DayZ, because the standalone version is coming this year. Right now I recommend Borderlands 2. I've been playing it a lot. If you have people to play it with, it's really a no-brainer. Might be my favourite game of 2012 so far. Oh and since you're interested in modding and something that should keep you hooked for a good while, I suggest the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. Specifically Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat. Great atmosphere. All Points Bulletin/APB: Reloaded is another PC exclusive, but it's one of those games where you either hate it or love it. The combat is pretty mediocre, just your standard third person shooter. Very fast-paced, very arcady. It has a learning curve, but I find that it pays off. The customization is the real point of the game though. It does it better than any other game, ever. Cars, clothing, art, music etc. The game itself is free to play, but it costs a premium sub to unlock the full customization suite and layers. So basically instead of having 100 layers to work with, you'd have 20. Which is still enough to get started.
