is master chief John 117 the last spartan?
ok i know he's not but i didn't know a better title for the thread but yeah, so if you read the halo novels you know John is NOT the last spartan 2 alive. there's kelly, linda, will, fred(?), and there was kurt but you know. . .
so my question is this:
why when halo 3 and bascially ALL the halo games keep saying that John 117 is the last of his kind/ last remaining spartan?
bungie has stated that the novels are canon so what's the deal? this is driving me nuts!

No One knows where kelly, linda, fred and kurt are, thats why they are listed as Missed In Action (MIA). The three spartans of halo wars are surviving spartans too, but they are listed as Missed in action (MIA) too. but as all spartans are listed Missed in Action even if they are Killed In Action (KIA) No one knows who are surviving MIAs and who are Dead MIAs. so all listed dead
