That suddenly throws all of the new stuff out the window? What, is a study of Cortana now impossible because an Elite is in the game? Is it impossible, now, for the Chief to be out of his element just because there are humans around? The Chief is out of his element because the enemies he is facing are beyond his abilities to handle. He is out of his element because he has to deal with a Commander who does not respect him, or Cortana. He is out of his element because he may need to go against his superior's orders and do what he, personally, feels is right. He is out of his element because he now has a close, inimate relationship with a dying, crazy AI. For a detatched, ask-no-questions super soldier, I'd say he's out of his element. But nope, there are humans in the game. Everything that could have been is now lost.
