Bungie Weekly Update
Most of the [i]cool [/i]info was revealed on Tuesday in the Multiplayer Vidoc, but here's some stuff on matchmaking and more.

Clans, do they serve a purpose any more? I would like to know why you guys took clan matches out and if you're not going to put them back in then why have clans at all? Just thought I'd ask cool update though

I don't know the answer to your particular problem, but I will say that it definitely has nothing to do with how your xbox is plugged into your TV/monitor.

I still can't download the new maps it just keeps saying "puchased falied". I tried swaping TVs/cables and all that but it still doesn't work.

Well, I finally got it working. The last update made it sound like it was going to ask you for your credit card # at the download screen...which is not the case. The following is what I had to do to download the maps: From the Xbox 360 Dashboard, go to Xbox Live Marketplace. From here, click Account Management / Memberships / (Your current XBL membership) / Change Payment Options / Add Credit Card. Once you have successfully added your credit card as a payment option you should be good to go. If you have several payment options already associated with your XBL account, you may have to "Change Payment Options" again and click on the credit card you just added. This should select that credit card as the current payment method for your account. Its a shame though, I cant really play on Hangem--err...Tombstone because I have very few friends on XBL, ha. Also, one cool thing I just noticed is that by having a credit card associated with my account, I can now add Microsoft Points with it instead of having to buy them from Wal-Mart. I haven't noticed if it is cheaper, though. [Edited on 04.17.2007 6:43 AM PDT]

im getting the same thing. its annoying. i also have an xbox 360 and i at first thought the servers were busy. but my friend says there may be a glitch with the difference in xbox and xbox 360. i dont think thats true though.

Well...the maps download is not working for me. I click Blastacular pack. It takes me to a screen where it asks me if I want to "PURCHASE" or "DON'T PURCHASE." I click purchase and it goes straight to the download screen and appears as though it is going to start downloading them (before it ever even asks me for a credit card #) and then the download bar goes all the way to full and I get a new screen saying "Purchase failed. You will not be charged for this transaction. Please try again later." The only thing I could imagine here is that its simply trying to charge the credit card associated with my account, which doesn't exist because I have an xbox 360. But, the last update says it will require us to enter credit card info. Maybe the servers are busy?

why have u got rid of btb and put it unranked thats gonna make the game -blam!- !!!! thats the best thing about the game playin wit 8 of ure mates in a ranked game on unranked btb u get crappy guests that jus quit cuz they get raoed too often !!!! SORT IT OUT BUNGIE

RP unranked? What are you thinking? First you take out 1v1... Now RP? Bad idea... Some people cant get a team together to get high lvl's in team game types... you just took away the one thing kids without teams have... that was a bad bad bad idea... seriously, think about it. The only thing i was looking forward to do was play RP right when the lvl's reset... now i can't do that! unranked = no skill lvl match up and no rewards for being good at it... people quit unranked games! and sometimes just don't play... bring back the rank or a lot of kids that don't have teams will stop playing... seriously.

im going to have to agree with the guys on this thread and say that bungie or whoever is in charge of all this is seriously killing the game for the veterans just because they want hype for halo 3 they are obviously trying to attract first time gamers and nubbs by making everything unranked... reseting the ranks.... just seems harder to take anything seriously anymore.... it was fun though... too bad everybody quits out of unranked stuff
