The Halo engine and Destiny.

We know that Bungie could not retain any rights to Halo pretty much, but what about the engine itself? It's not like some other engines that can be liscensed to use in games, it's exclusive to Halo. But is there a special case for Bungie? Or did they have to make an entirely new engine from scratch? I think the Halo engine would be fairly good. I'm not sure how it'd hold up to MMO esque features, but as for looks, gameplay, and efficiency it's great.

 •
Posted by: T1B3R7uMB0YXVI I was reading one of the computer graphic magazine about how 343 Industry converged Halo CE into the new game engine. They called it the "Saber" engine, which was heavily modified from Bungie's engine. Maybe it's called Sabertooth?
Pretty sure Saber (Saber Interactive) was the company they hired out for designing the graphic overlay engine in Halo Anniversary. Looking up... and Saber's engine is called: Saber engine. So I guess you are sort of right except 343 probably didn't use Saber's engine for anything else and we're talking about Bungie and Destiny not 343 and Halo.
