New Halo 2 Render
The Halo 2 renders page has been updated with a new image showing off the intimidating ODSTs that will join your fight against the Covenant. The render gallery contains various 3D models and wireframes that are created during the development of Halo 2. This particular shot is taken in-engine, but it's technically not a screenshot since it's not an actual gameplay moment.

If you've read any of the Halo novels (which you definitely should do!) then you already know a little bit about these soldiers. The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (also known as "Helljumpers") are more or less the UNSC equivalent of an Airborne Ranger. This all-volunteer outfit has a rep for being a tad bit crazy, but have to be in order to strap yourself into a HEV (Human Entry Vehicle) and be shot out of a ship, through the atmosphere, to a hostile environment below. Suffice it to say these guys are tough and can kick plenty of Covenant butt.

I love it. Very clean and shiny and nice. But there is a slight problem, it almost looks like very well made plastic army men. Complete with the extra plastic. Look closely at the arms and you'll see what I mean.

off topic again but i live in aus and got all three of the books.. it's not hard just ask the bookshop lady to order it and they will ;). as for the ODST's they are the l337 of the marine corpse so ahhh yeah they enjoy killing stuff a lot. as for what bungie wants to do with them i am sure that they know what they're doing.. cos if they don't *shakes fist*

This picture reminds me of my childhood. WOW! Those ODST guys look awsome I cant wait to see them in action hopfully their better than the marines in halo and hopfully they drive the warthog better than they drive the gost in halo. Those dumb marines in the gost kill me every time they drive withien 15 feet of me, but I'd probly be safer in the gunner seat or driving. Speaking of renders (old ones if u dont mind) those ATV look awsome I cant wait to drive them. I heard that u can use your gun on it, that'll be fun. I hope their faster than the gost so they have some kind of advantage. Wonder how high they can jump? you know with new ragdoll physicis which I hope there is, I can or I wanna see a corspe roll off the ATV or out of the driver or gunner seat of the warthog. wouldent that be awsome? Wow how did I get to corspes rolling out off warthogs and ATVs? To get to the point halo 2 gonna rock!!

This is sorta off topic but look at the render of the marines with the warthog. Is the back left tire of the warthog floating?

The Helmets should be a little less fabric-looking, but other than that they look great. If those are the Helljumpers (Feet First), then what class are the guys in soldiers in the Warthog shot? And also, what will the classes of soldiers be. Will there be a not-so-elite Army, exclusive to Earth's defense? Or just marines? -_-; For Brie

those odst diffently need more work they look too fake they need to look more realistic the guns need to be more defined too becuase they look like they ar epieces of plastics just siliconed together.

Man those ODSTs look so awesome, I sure hope their better at kicking alien butt then in Halo 1. Ever since the new site came up theres been so much more cool stuff. Thx again bungie and keep it coming.

So Bungies pioneering and paving the way for video game history, it's dedication to it's fans and the time and effort that goes into making sure communication to it's fans is a high priority and all the past magnificent games they've produced mean they suck? As opposed to the millions of generic companies that produce mediochre games that have no heart or similiar dedication? Mook.

You know Bungie isn't all that great there games in the past haven't been that good really ONI was good but that really it except of coures for halo and xbox wouldn't be a very good system without halo so halo kicks ass but bungie isn't good but now that they have made halo they RULE HALO 2 IS GOING TO BE THE BEST GAME EVER .......except if Halo3 is ever made (which should be!)
