Halo 3 Ad Airs Monday!

The image you'll find in here is taken from the CG in the brand new Halo 3 TV ad, airing on ESPN's Monday Night Football next week. Be sure to check it out and set up that Tivo. This is one you won't want to miss. Also, there is some football game playing that night. Apparently.

 • Okay, for those of you who are contemplating on the kids being on Earth, they aren't. But just because they are looking up and seeing stars, doesn't mean they are not somewhere else. If your on another planet and you look up at the sky, what are you going to see? Stars of course. So wherever they are, most likely reach, they are still in space and still would see stars. I still think the kids are John and Kelly, it would only make sense because of the flashback Master Chief had.

 •
Posted by: KILLX_ Due to recent developments, I now believe that those are just two kids on Earth, and that the transition is to show how much life has changed, from the luscious grasslands outside of Mombasa, to the war torn wasteland of the war.
you could be right, ever since someone said it was a "flashback" people have been assuming that the boy is the chief, but then again, why would MC be dreaming about them if it was not a memory? The helmet appears before the scene ends so this could be taken either way: It is the Chief dreaming about before he was enlisted into the spartan program or after he was enlisted and was on one of the training missions, evident by the black suits they both wear. The other possibility is that the scene takes place on earth and the little boy who has heard about the spartan program (The spartan II program goes public in the book series) is wondering if he will ever meet them and envisions the chiefs helmet next to him, then the scene cuts to the chief on earth in the same location as the kids, but the spot has been obliterated by the covenant battle cruiser that made a slipspace jump inside New Mombassa.

 •
Posted by: wumbo My best bet is that in the begining, the two starting children are/may be John and Kelly. It is a perfect scene for a flash-back while they were at Reach. The only thing that I yet don't understand, is that it is said that Reach has an orange/redish atmosphere. Thus making this theory, a hypothesis. But back to the flash-back, this may have been caused by some sort of accident the Master Chief must have had, thanks to the Wraiths. I really did get surprised by the shield gernade! That was definetly unexpected! And I believe it was so for everyone, outside of Bungie of course. I have read though this forum and even though many have brought up very thilling ideas, I doubt that one of us is very close to the answer or the series of answers requiered to understand the video without any dificulty what so ever. I give Bungie an A+ for the effort on trying to hide many clues left for us on this piece of art, acctualy! Great effects and grafics! The design was fantastic! But as for my fellow mates that stay in the inquiery of the video's truth, we may just have to make the video speak for itself!
Bungie did not make the commercial. It was made by Digital Domain, one of the worlds leading CGI commercial companies. Bungie was only involved in terms of "no you cant use that" "yes you can use that." They just confirmed that everything in the commercial was OK to be publicly released.

 • The helmet was fathomed before the project started. The whole plan for the SPARTAN II's was to train them to be the best and augment them so they could use MJOLNIR amour that was designed to make them even stronger. Without MJOLNIR, the SPARTAN II's would never have existed.

 • why is master chief's hand the little circle things all broken up when in all of the other videos and even my master cheif wall paper his arm is fine so does this indicate this video is neer the end of the game? also because master cheif says "not yet" when the marines or whoever it is says they can not find him i think that master cheif is going to die in halo 3

 • if anyone bothered to notice...when the camera is angled from behind the children, what everyone thinks is the moon is actually a galaxy...thats what i see at least, i may be wrong...but if i'm right, then that means that the kids couldn't possibly be on earth, therefore not in the same spot as the battle field

 • i dont think they were in the same place as the war zone. you guys have already been saying why Chief wouldnt have been on another planet, and they werent on earth as kids. my guess is that it's like the scream; its just a transition. his mind is all messed up from taking a blow to the head, so he's mixing what's going on with what has already happened. thats why things look the same. as for it being John and Sam, not John and Kelly, i was wrong. You guys are right; frankie does refer to the other kid as a girl. of course, in answer to both, there is still the *remote* possibility that these kids are not spartans in training, but are people at new mombasa before the siege. but if that's teh case, how would they not know about teh covenant, and how would they not know that the covenant is trying to kill them?

 • Alright, upon looking at your screenshots, I agree both scenes allow little room for a change of setting. But wouldn't make more sense to take this as a metaphor? Because guess what, MJORLNIR armor wasn't around when John was a kid. How could a helmet be on Reach during a time when those helmets hadn't been fathomed into existence yet? Also I'd like to try and make a list of facts that people agree on. For one, neither person there looks to be a girl, and I first thought it was Kelly and John, but then I was also thinking that Sam and John were best friends as well. Perhaps someone could help point out to me how we know who is who?

 • I understand what your saying, but don't forget, the helmet doesn't change much. Its been relatively the same through all 3 Halo's with only improvements in graphics, and of course Halo 3's new war torn look to the aging armor.
