The image you'll find in here is taken from the CG in the brand new Halo 3 TV ad, airing on ESPN's Monday Night Football next week. Be sure to check it out and set up that Tivo. This is one you won't want to miss. Also, there is some football game playing that night. Apparently.

Ok, this is what I have so far. Point: The trailer takes place on Earth, the same location the whole time. Proof: If you look at the last frame of he night scene, and the first frame of the shell shock scene, the changes are just the brightness of the sky and some grass missing, but the remaining grass is the same in both, and the helmet doesn't move. Actually, that all I can remember at the moment thats still at debate. [Edited on 12/7/2006]

Which can be used as proof that the two kids are not John and Kelly! Either they are kids of our era, or from that era. Or just plainly a dream caused by a pass-out.
-
I just read this, and KP of Bungie clearly states that the trailer takes place on Earth. Near the end of the page.

The stars mean virtually nothing. Also, this is made by Digital Domain, they like cool effects, there the worlds leading CGI trailer makers. It looks better then a few dots of light in th sky. Again, over time new things could become visible.
-
One thing though wumbo, like I stated before, I understand they never met on earth. But where they are in the scene could be anywhere in the universe. Still doesn't change the fact that the stars are in the sky

Hey thanks!

Already available in HD!
-
when is it going to on 360market?
-
Everyone join my group! The site for it will be up soon, its based around my insanity with K'NEX, and my Halo story trilogy, a totally new take on the Halo universe (did I mention Bungie stole my idea and used it for Ghosts of Onyx?) Yes they did, I started the trilogy about 2 years ago, had to give it up because of school work load, and it turns out Bungie took my ideas.

1. Thanks for posting the link, I keep loosing it. 2. Frankie says in the interview that the 2 are around the same point of the game. 3. The control scheme has been revamped. Left and right triggers fire their respective weapons, and the bumper above each reloads that weapon. The right bumper is also the new "Use" button. To make the right bumper doe 3 things... The thought is too horrible. "Got to reload. NO! I DIDNT WANT TO -blam-'ing sprint!" [Edited on 12/7/2006]

All of you guys are giving wonderful ideas! Especialy KILLX_ and Halo2Girl305! The only problem, following KILLX_'s idea, is that those kids cannot be both John and Kelly. When our two Spartans were in traning, they never touched Earth. At all! Which is making me scratch out the "Young Spartans" idea, if the same place is Earth. This means that it has to be other kids. Or, here is an idea: What if those kids were from our era? Way before we knew the Covenant. Way before the war. And the next scene comes from the same place in New Mombasa, what was once Mombasa. Oh, and for that person who talked about never seeing a galaxy in the sky. These could be Northern Lights, or some other type of phenomenon, which I am now begining to doubt. But as for the rest, let us continue on our search for answers!

There are many significant things in the trailer! I just loved it, I am really looking forward to the game. This link: http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=765343 is a bunch of questions that Frankie has been asked. Some things that I think Frankie made clear is that there is no guarantee that the children was a flashback, although I agree it is likely. Another thing he basically states is that the Bubble Shield will be used in game play, he also says the Bubble Shield is not a grenade, there are Upgraded/New Wraiths, and there have yet to be any mention of the Elites. I believe those are the the significant aspects that have been mentioned. Everyone is saying that this incident takes place very close to when the announcement trailer occurred! I DON'T THINK SO! I may be wrong but has anyone mentioned that Master Chief is wearing different color armor in both videos? Unless he has some new feature that he can change the color of his armor to better suit his surroundings these two incidents take place after different battles. Master Chief does not even have that major damage on his right breast plate. As for game-play and how the Sprint/Bubble shield will be incorporated, I don't think using 'X' as the sprint button would work for Halo 3, I know it worked in Gears of War, but that game-play is different because most of the time your stopping and shooting, the times when you sprint are when you are going from cover to cover. In Halo 3 it would be different, reason being, try and control the right analog stick while your pressing and holding 'X', I don't know that seems a bit difficult to me. If anything (sorry this is all speculation that sprinting and bubble grenades are in game-play) the sprint button logically would the Left Bumper (LB) and the Bubble Shield would be 'X'! Well that's my rant tell me what you all think!
-
Okay, time to play. All this talk is making me want to lol. Send me a freind request if you want to play :) WolfDemon305
-
Yeah, I got them. *wants to play Halo 2 now* Hmmm
-
Its hard to see. I only found it by slowing it down. Go back to page 34 or 35, I have 2 links to images.
-
Back. Okay so now your talking about location? I was talking about the planet/place they were on in the scene. But going back to your theory, okay, maybe....I never really looked for that. I'll go watch it again lol.
-
Its all logical except for the transition. It looks exactly like the same place minus some grass.
-
Okay, but we are all making guesses on this just like yourself. All I am saying is that where they are, no matter who they are, they would see stars. Then again its grassy, the only two places known to have any sort of life in the universe is Earth and according to Halo, the Halo itself. Am I right? He could just be having some random flashback that has him and Kelly, but their surroundings make no sense lol. Sort of like in a dream, things don't make sense sometimes. Well, dinner time, brb.
-
But we don't know when that scene is. Over time that can change. plus, the Covenant turn whole planets into mostly glass sphere, who's to say they cant shatter over time and change what it looks like. Also, at the speed of light, it still takes years for light to travel to Earth. So it could be that new starts are visible in the future. E.g. if the sun finally went out as some people think it may one day, the light would continue to come from it for quiet a long time still, the heat however would be gone almost instantly. yeah, i agree with halogirl on this one too. ;) lol. And that mushroom cloud in the background gave me chills. I think the entire covanent army has pretty much wiped out earth, now they're racing to get to the ark to turn it on, before the Chief does. I think the chief is going to die, but he's going to take the entire covenant force with him. :) lol. (just my thoughts)
-
KillX if your talking to me, I'm just basing most of my facts on the book. John and Kelly never met on Earth, not from what I remember. They were on Reach when they go their training right? And don't worry about me and what I am pointing out, I'll state what I think is needed. Unlike you, people aren't going to point out every detail in my post. Not saying this in a mean way at all, just going by what you had said about yourself last night :) [Edited on 12/7/2006]
I absouloutly agree with Halo2Girl305!!!
Haha, thanks :)
-
dude...think about it...in the shot from behind the kids, you can see what looks like a galaxy behind the grass...i don't know about you, but i can't see any galaxies that big from earth
-
If your going to prove what ISN'T a possibility, back it up with proof. You basically just said "It's not on Earth because I think it can be some where else." You offered no proof at all, and your point is hardly believable with the supplied information.
-
I absouloutly agree with Halo2Girl305!!!
-
Okay, for those of you who are contemplating on the kids being on Earth, they aren't. But just because they are looking up and seeing stars, doesn't mean they are not somewhere else. If your on another planet and you look up at the sky, what are you going to see? Stars of course. So wherever they are, most likely reach, they are still in space and still would see stars. I still think the kids are John and Kelly, it would only make sense because of the flashback Master Chief had.
