Today Microsoft announced that as of April 15th they discontinue Xbox LIVE service for original Xbox consoles and games (i.e.Halo 2). This includes Xbox v1 games being played on an Xbox 360.

To everyone who has played, enjoyed and supported Halo 2 for it's 5+ years of dominance on Xbox LIVE, we thank you! It is of course sad for any of us to accept the end of an era but it's been a good ride.
That said, mark your calendars now - on April 14th we're going to hit Halo 2 en masse for one last HOORAH, old school style.

2 years of golden days of a video game,, that's pretty rare. Shows how awesome it really was. I am still one of the few loyal Halo 2 fans who still play online to this day via XBC. Still isen't the same as H2 matchmaking though :( [Edited on 07.19.2012 11:41 PM PDT]
