H3 Screenshot Dissection
We're taking a deeper look at the Halo 3 screenshots today. Consider it a behind the scenes look at them, with a commentary track from the directory. Except I'm not the director, more the key grip. [i]Key[/i] grip though, that's gotta count for something.

a few things here and there, firstly the demo which will be out in spring will be testing world wide matchmakeing most probubly and secondly the graphics or perhaps they would prefer to have completly finished work on the maps to actually show to the public, i dont think they would want us flameing things that arnt done 100% yet..just look at this forum for evidence of that *cough..thats why its not going to be out until spring im also looking forward to the cgi trailer, i dont want to see much to ruin suprises, but its still going to be an entertaining trailer so who cares. we have already seen a trailer (e3) which has the real graphics and stuff why not let them have some other fun..or why do another. strangly the more i look at the screenshots and the more i play halo 2 they do look better. and i know the graphics will not be as impressive as gears of war but gears is much more dingy and dull, a very dark gamethe details are perfect for it, whereas halo is a brighter game a jack of all trades completly diffrent setting and so on, i know im going to be impressed nethertheless and id say in my head , awww wow thats pwetty, and this one is too the person who says he wants it looking like real life..your expecting too much, i think it will look cool, but if they make it look tooo realistic i think the feel of halo would be lost. but im sure it will be to the expectations of many when we are playing the full game. wow,, i cant explain my thoughts, i couldnt stand a halo 3 with these graphics really. I expect so mutch more real life looking environments, not another halo 2. If these are the graphics of halo 3, then i hope that the gameplay is great, but i will be selling my xbox 360 and getting a ps3 if that happens, i expect it to be real life looking and more graphical than gears of war,,,,,,,,,, or at least at its level,, plez bungie dont make me sell my 360, i love its design, but if halo 3 looks like those screenshots, ill be force to do it, sorry..........

So duel welding is still in the game, cause thats the only question that wasnt answered in the dissection. I hope it is cause other wise weapons like the plasma rifle and the SMG become useless, really. [Edited on 11/27/2006]

What I said was that if they where to show actual gameplay during the commercial,it would probebly have the placeholders,and what not.Since the game is still incomplete.Don't know why you quoted me,I never said anything about it not being CGI,or the trailer containing placeholders.Or even denieing Bungies intentions for it's showing. I like how they put the alternate weapon on the spartans backs' instead of having him pull it out of his -Blam- when you switch weapons. Much more realistic than H2 and 1.

As for the tv commercial.I have mixed feeling but I think when it airs i'll just love it.Them not showing actual gameplay probebly contributes to how much still needs to be done in the game.Alot of the campaine is probebly still not quite ready to be shown,for say,longer than 17.25 seconds.I don't want to see a tile textured placeholder filled commercial.that's most likly what we'd get right now. Dude.What they showed 1up,was simply a build.That's why the graphics wern't quite up to next gen standards.They still have a -blam!- load of work to do.It's merly in playable form,and as you can see,no where near finished.The mp demo will be cool.I doubt Bungie would change there mind on something like that.1up has a podcast that details alot about the mp demo,and the stuff mp that they got to play.You otta check it out.Oh yeah,never judge a game while it's still in development.By now,it probebly looks and plays alot better.Remember,what we're seeing is lik two months old.Trust me,alot has been done since then.Espesially with Bungies,rush at the end thing they do. I have to make a comment on the little tv trailer they are putting out during the Super Bowl. D U M B what else is there to say? It just seems retarted. Ok everyone here is a commercial for our game that well, isnt actually our game at all. Its just computer generated crap. Youve shown screen shots already, youve talked about some of the multiplayer maps and more. SO just put out a commercial that showcases the actual friggin game. I dont care about commercial that doesnt even show the game. Who wants to see that when you can have actual footage from the game? And if you dont have it ready for some reason to show off the graphics of it by February for a commercial then dont do it at all. What is the point? I think everyone is aware that you are making Halo 3 and have been for ever. Putting out crap like you plan on would be more likely to turn off people from it then anything else. That is if they are smart enough to realize that whatever you plan on showing is not the actual game.
