It was like there was a [i]regular[/i] enemy that constantly taunted Noble Team throughout the game, and then finally stepped down to fight when the Spartans proved to be tougher than he thought. If only it was a bit more in-game; had the battle/s against him and his squad been a bit more apparent and tangible from level to level. Halo isn't much for having things carry over to the next level, it's limited weapons and marines now and then, but allowing every encounter with the Field Marshals to change the outcome of the final battle, could have been really cool. Similar to how one can change how the last boss battle in Oni plays by making a decision on the level before. [Edited on 12.12.2012 7:43 AM PST]
