Bungie Weekly Update!
Hey I actually talk about the game in this one. In as much detail as I can get away with without being fired. Zomg! That is to say more detail than usual, but less than you want. Read it, absorb it like 2-ply bathroom tissue and enjoy it. Lots of new stuff coming up soon. You're going to like it.

First of all it "spartan laser" and second of all it's "man cannon" If you have been reading some of the stuff EGM has put on their website, especially the commentaries of the guys who have played Halo 3, you can find out that the spartan laser has a charge time, so you can take them out before they fry you to a crisp. As for the man cannon, i agree, putting the flag in it would suck and would be cheap. To counter that- maybe thats why the new vehicle, the atv type thing (mongoose, i think, correct me if i'm wrong ) is faster than a boosting ghost, so you can catch up to where they launched the flag.

I think that is one of the things that bungie is working on right now. making the spartan laser balanced enough to be fun.

I like the initial idea of all these new weapons however the game could get a little too unbalanced. There's word of this 'Spartan Beam' and as EGM said, I hope it doesn't become the single most powerful weapon in the game, cause that would be aweful. Also the new 'man launcher' or whatever seems messed up, I mean it might make CTF games at levels like Coag (BloodGutch) way too easy with just lauching the flag across the map. I thought this was a fairly good update... I got excited about seeing the next issue of EGM, then I turned around to play a little 360... and... bam I got the RING OF DEATH!!!! NOOOOO!!!! and right when Gears of War came out too.

Hey frankie, will the flood be scary again, like they were in Halo C:E? Halo 2 flood weren't frightening, they were kinda dull witted, slow moving, boorish morons, the H1 flood seemed to -blam!- teleport, and you couldn't use active camo to walk past them all. Please say, "Yes, the flood will make you crap your pants again."

......so it's gonna satisfy H1 and H2 fans. Hmm....... The idea of mass customization brings thoughts to mind along the lines of "h1 vs h2 auto aim" and ACTUAL weaponsets from both. Man, that would be rad. But then my brain jumps to the possibilities of the h1 vs h2 issue and matchmaking: a possibility that there will be halo 1 and halo 2 (ish) MM playlists. Oh man, if that happens, I think I'll die happy. One suggestion that you've probably already thought over: cooking grenades would be damned spiffy. Can't wait to hear what the X button does. Awesome update gald to hear theres gonna be the Assult rifle and the Battle rifle! Also i just finished reading the Halo book: Ghosts of Onyx. All i have to say about that is WOW, AWESOME!!!!

OK. This may be a long shot but....... "A [i] far cry [/i] from the shiny default placeholder in the MP demo EGM played." As in a shoutout to Far Cry, another game with awesome water effects. Maybe not. Just throwing it out there. Anyway, great update.
