Guys, I want to start a furniture company.
I want to create and design modern furniture for the home. I want to push America out of the colonial style of interior design and make our homes sleek, elegant, and beautiful. Overall, I want to make low cost, but high quality environmentally friendly furnature. How can I do this?

I don't want to be THAT guy OP, but the only people who want those kinds of furniture are Edgy, College Teens majoring in Liberal Arts. Most people get old style furniture cause it serves a purpose other than looking trendy. If you notice, most of these new age furniture is rather small and complicated. If you're serious, I would guess the first step to accomplish your goal would be to DESIGN the furniture. In all seriousness, though, materials are not cheap; and, many furniture businesses who do what you're describing already exist. So,if you're serious, it wouldn't be easy for you to jump in and actually hope to turn a profit, or even get a single person to buy what you're offering. I'm sure this is a troll thread, but still, there's my answer.

Most modern furniture carries a steep price tag. If anything, broke ass liberal arts majors couldn't afford it and are getting old style furniture that looks like ass.

Besides, OP, I would buy an old-fashioned recliner chair from you, upholstered with old-fashioned black leather and some soft fur on the arm rests. Why? Because they are awesome. Sell both styles.
