Nevermind, this was disproven. It would be -blam!- awesome if it were true, though.
The universe is infinite. That means that it contains infinite space. That means that it contains infinite events.
And since it contains infinite events, that means that literally everything is happening. Somewhere, right now, you are dating the girl of your dreams. Somewhere, right now, you are being chased by a bloodthirsty killer.
This wouldn't be possible if the universe was 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 trillion lightyears long. It would be nigh impossible. But because of the simple fact that the universe is infinite, it is possible.
Isn't that cray?

Somewhere right now there's a Santa Claus that can travel through the infinite universe and is coming to this planet?

Is the Universe infinite? If it was though, YOU wouldn't be dating the girl of your dreams. A person that looks exactly like you would be dating a girl that looks exactly like the girl of your dreams. It wouldn't be you though. Because you are you. There can't be two you's that doesn't make sense.

Exactly; it's always expanding. Therefore, it's infinite. If something is constantly growing, it's neverending.
No. If it's growing then it has a finite amount of space in it at a certain time. And before then it took up less space. So the Universe was smaller than it is right now 5 years ago, then there isn't an infinite amount of space in it RIGHT NOW. So not everything can be happening right now. So lets say the Universe is like 100 trillion light years long, in a couple years it could add like a trillion, but like you said if it's a certain amount of space right now then not everything can be happening right now. Feel bad now because your theory is wrong.

I agree. The amount on "matter" in "space" as I see it black void is imo NOT INFINITE. But the space that the matter is in, is infinite. I highly doubt we are in an enclosed object. Where matter will just bounce off and move inward. Highly doubt it. But hey, if it turns out that we are in some kind of box/sphere then Ill cut my own balls off and suck my own -blam!-!!
Posted by: A 3 Legged Goat
Posted by: Garem The universe is infinite.
No it isn't.
Most geometric mathematical calculations that have been made about the universe indicate that it extends indefinitely. While we don't know 100% for sure if it does or if it doesn't, most of the evidence, at the moment, argues that it's infinite. [Edited on 11.29.2012 4:07 PM PST]

If the universe was infinite in size, it would seem logical for it to be filled with infinite matter too. This matter would combine into infinite stars, among other objects, and would make the night sky a solid shade of red/yellow/orange. But it isn't like that, so I think the universe isn't infinite.
Posted by: Toxifies If it's growing then it has a finite amount of space in it at a certain time.
Not necessarily. 1...2...3...4... 1... 2... 3... 4... Both of these number lines can go on forever, but the space in between arbitrarily defined unites can be larger or smaller.
Feel bad now because your theory is wrong.
You really didn't prove anything, actually.

So somewhere, the entire universe is being destroyed? Whoops! Multiverse yes, universe no. We know how big it is.
