What is up with Bungie...
And making their games 500-700 years in the future?
We now know that "Destiny" will be 700 years in the future
Marathon was also 700 years in the future.
and Halo was 500 years in the future.
Are we missing something? Are they predicting the future? Are they ancient aliens trying to tell us something? Also is it possible that Destiny and Marathon are related?

Your not confined to the modern or the limited. you can create what ever you want as long as its not extremely far fetched.

Because people like seeing cool, futuristic, shtuff. It's also much more fun to blast apart aliens than just some other dude. :)

The future can be anything you want it to be. It is easier and much more fun to tell a story when there is no limits.

I like to think that they are fans of seeing what becomes of Earth and us in the distant future, and each game universe is one interpretation of how things might be.

Maybe Marathon is the Comet to Destiny's Destiny. Marathon == DLC?

A long enough time that there are enough advancements in technology to have cool weapons and space type futuristic things. But not too far into the future, because you don't want to build that much history. Like if it were 5000 years in the future, Bungie would need a backstory for that 5000 years. I'm just glad Bungie doesn't center it's universe around America. In Halo, things on earth were set in Africa, and in Destiny the last city is somewhere in the Phillipines (it seems), more specifically Puerto Princesa (from Sonic John's thread).

The thing I find most interesting with Bungie's lore is that all of it, theoretically, could have existed within the Halo Universe. We have no idea how many times that Universe was restarted with the Forerunner or whoever came before them. Not that there is any strong evidence for this, though.

Jones come to domine this world that's why he create Bungie with Seropian and he's trying to convert many people to rally his cause, the thing is he's succeeding. [Edited on 11.28.2012 12:24 AM PST]
