Halo 4 is stale
The meaningless ranks, the lack of competitive play, the lack of teamwork, no communication, solely focusing on you, the individual, makes this game boring and repetitive. I have no desire, after barely a week since release, to play. It's all for fun.. I have fun when playing, but it just gets bland.
Call outs are missing, where is the X??? "One shot on my X!" Useless now.. I'm making up my own call outs and the only people who understand are my friends. This game is casual to the max. Bring on January for the ranked playlist.. right now this game is already OLD!

I do enjoy the few 2 or 3 games before it starts to get boring, then I need a break. But the fact this game does this makes it sub par, perhaps this ranking system can be Halo 4's savior.

The only problem I have is that I can play 1-2 reasonably balanced matches (skill wise) before the trueskill system seems to kick in, and I play against people that are [i]way[/i] better than I am.

inb4butthurt Halo 4 is an okay game. Just [i]okay[/i]. Nothing more....nothing less. Add in ranked playlist and fine tune multiplayer with updates/DLC and this game may be more than okay.

I had mixed views on the Campaign's story to be honest, though the gameplay was pretty solid. Theater recieved more downgrades. Great. Forge is OK, just clunky and glitchy as -blam!-. Customs have lost an arm and a leg without a real infection gametype and a disappointing amount of options. Spartan Ops is bland, repetitive, pointless, and mind-numbingly easy. I tried the entire first chapter, and its all garbage except the mildly entertaining CG. Infinity Slayer has many balancing problems that need to be addressed. Dynamic spawns, instant respawns on really small maps, the Mantis and Guass on way more BTB maps than they need to be, almost all Forerunner weapons designs are bad or glitched, Adrift in general.

Halo really hasn't been competitive since the early days of Halo 3. The problem is game companies are moving towards casual audiences to boost sales. I will say 343i left plenty of customization options for competitive play in Halo 4. You just have to create your own competitive settings.

I'm really enjoying Halo 4. I prefer it much more to Reach. However, Halo 4 definitely needs a title update already i.e Flood Mode. It has huge potential.

Yeah, I think that the losing team shouldn't get credits, or at least have a severe reduction, to encourage team work.

But, if you do value the game experience, it shouldn't come as a surprise that one might value a system that shows how good he is at the game.
