In Cryptum i read that the prehistoric humans were hairless.
But in the Halo 4 terminals they have hair, plenty of hair.
Look at the Lord of Admirals, Forthencho. At the end of Primordium he is described to have 'Patches of Hair', but in the Halo 4 terminal he looks like a werewolf.

They probably changed their minds. Stuff changes all the time, and sometimes it's just not portrayed fully or deliberately left vague. And on top of that, it is always possible to find or add new logic that supports inconsistencies or additions. Even if it exclusively says that something is or isn't possible, there will always be some sort of arguement that supports the contrary. It all depends on whose vision it follows, and/or whatever new angle everything has taken. Had they even finished the concept arts for the ancient humans back when Cryptum was in production? In Cyrptum... When Chakas and Riser are at the prison of the Precursor, didn't Bornstellar mention "tears matting the fur on Riser's cheeks"? It MAY have been a beard, but who knows.

Maybe the forerunners however advanced they may have been somehow didn't understand the concept of shaving?

If there's no explanation for this, you should just go with what is established in the Halo 4 terminals.

its probably just a minor retcon. whatever.
