There are moments where it will take me minutes to load a single page, and it only happens because I have to refresh the page several times for it to finally load properly. And it's clearly on Bungie.net's end. No other website has been giving me problems. I've also re-installed Chrome several times.
It needs to be fixed.
Posted by: Duards Have you tried a different browser? Firefox or IR or Safari? I've yet to encounter this error.
Pretty much what Duards said. I only get the 304 error when I use chrome and it could also be the internet service provider you're using. When I'm at work it throws the 304 at me a lot when using chrome, but at school it's all good.
Posted by: Achronos It used to be a pretty crappy browser technically, with very serious privacy concerns. Now it is a resonably okay browser, but still has the serious privacy concerns. I wouldn't use it, but hey, its just a browser, not a religion. More on topic, though, the errors seem to be manifesting only on Chrome and are likely a fairly rare client issue. We're still looking into it, though. Oh, yeah, it isn't the number one browser. IE still beats it handily. But don't worry, we continue to plan on supporting it, as lots of you use it.
Posted by: ABotelho I don't give a -blam!- what Achronos says. Seriously. Is he supposed to be some sort of all-mighty god that we're supposed to mindlessly listen to? I can't even count the amount of times people have said "Well Achronos says Chrome sucks" Whether he hates it or not isn't a valid reason to stops supporting it. Lack of support for the #1 browser is just foolish.

I'm surprised a bungie employee would say something like that. Like I can understand it if they were pro firefox or something but IE? IE? Allofmywhy.jpg Are they allowed to say stuff like that? Anyway, an update. I can confirm that I am still getting these errors in chrome. I think it is happening less now but I can't confirm that. It's purely speculation. Sometimes the page just turns into a load of random text. What about you guys? Cheers. [Edited on 11.13.2012 2:34 AM PST]
Posted by: IslocStarkiller So, anyone else receive the error when entering an error thread?
Yes, the irony makes me giggle. Then I proceed to mash my face against the keyboard until the page loads properly. It works.

I haven't gotten any with Chrome, like, ever.

I used to use Firefox, but whenever I was logged in the Reply page never loaded, so I switched to Chrome and never looked back.
Posted by: Count Blinkula Maybe Chrome is your problem. You should use Firefox.

Posted by: DesertStormer27
forget that! Get bungie.next out the door!!!
You can't rush amazingness. If they release it too soon, you will be getting more errors than just a 304. Let them release it when they are good and ready. That is one thing about Bungie, most of the time, when they release what they have been working on, they do tons of testing to make sure it is as smooth as possible, unlike other developers (yes IW, I am looking directly at you...).
maybe the guy who posted that was just thinking of devoting all resources to bungie.next rather than some crappy browser. But that's just me I could be getting the wrong end of the stick.

I have always been using Chrome to browse b.net and I have never gotten a 304 error. I wonder why everyone else is...

I love Chrome. I tried using IE and it was absurdly slow and inconvenient. I've yet to encounter the 304 errors though.

Acky being a reasonable, compassionate, understanding person? Whaaaaat?! I expected at least a solid, "You guys are all stupid it's a known fact that using a calculator to browse the internet is more effective than using Chrome. Fact."
Posted by: Arbiter 739 Archronos said Chrome sucks. Unfortunately I just discovered all the links I had to his posts did not save, so I can't show you all of them in their glory.
I'm running Chrome currently and I've yet to encounter any website errors.

I'm using Chrome, and I never encountered this 304 error. Try updating your Chrome.
-
All these errors seem to have appeared around the same time, maybe a few weeks ago. So it clearly is because they changed something. I use chrome as well, and I get this error a lot. Used to be fine until just few weeks ago, like I mentioned. Maybe they aren't really concerned with the issue because we are getting close to bungie.next? *fingers crossed*
