• Ex gang member who started smoking marijuana at 11? Why are these people allowed to reproduce?

 • My opinion is that I hope she spends 45 years in prison.

 • She's not a monster, she just beats down 2 year olds because of her own drug and molestation issues. That's all.

 • She's not going to change. And if she does it won't be for a long time. She's not fit to raise a child. She doesn't deserve her kids.

 • Sounds like she is the victim here, not her daughter. Her life's been pretty much -blam!- ty since she was a kid and this is a reflection of that. It's a shame that she is ultimately paying the price for those around her. She obviously controls her own actions, but the outside influences certainly didn't help. She is not fit to raise children in this condition; however, I don't think jail will do her any good. If it were me personally, I'd give her 5 years of rehab and then an additional 5 of probation afterwards to keep her in check. She certainly doesn't deserve to spend her whole life in jail. But that's just my opinion based on what the story says. Even if there are details being left out, I still think it's unfair that this person is getting the short end of the stick, as jailing her for nearly half a century doesn't solve the problem. It makes it worse. [Edited on 10.10.2012 9:01 PM PDT]

What do you think now?
I don't care if it's a woman or a man in this scenario. Either way, bad parenting/childhood is to blame. I don't think what she did should go unpunished, but I also don't think locking her away for 5 decades is going to make a difference. Her life already sucks. There's no reason to ruin it further. Fix the problem. Sending her to jail is avoiding it.

 •
Jocelyn suffered bleeding in her brain, a fractured rib, multiple bruises and bite marks, and was in a coma for a couple of days.
So... a monster? Why is this even a question? You know damn well that if this was a father, the case would be over before it even reached court.

 • To hell with her, the kids will be better off at a foster home. Quite sad to be honest, she deserves to be punished, hudting a two year old like that over potty training!
