Halo 4 Infection! Play as The Flood!

[url=http://halo4nation.com/news/halo-4-infection-confirmed/]Check it out:[/url] This is gonna be an awesome gametype. Sorry if old, I just wanted to inform the unaware. Also: [quote][b]Posted by:[/b] DarkSunnyboy1 For you non-French speakers: "Particular attention has been brought to the character design, which is in that game mode." "Different so as not to overlap with the weapons already known. But certain elements give the impression of a happy mixture of materials between covenant and the UNSC. For example, the Boitshot is equivalent to a Promethean Magnum spartan with shooting function concentrated. The improvements in Promethean armour also offers interesting possibilities of attack. One of them brings up a drone that draws on everything that enters its field of action. The helmet offers a Promethean vision through the fog, but also the identification of enemy caches. Very practical. Once the safe theater of operations must fulfill certain objectives imposed by the scenario. 343i will post every week a new xbox webnews chapter consisting of five missions." ^ First two paragraphs.[/quote] [Edited on 09.22.2012 12:47 PM PDT]

  • I hadn't seen this. Thanks for posting it. Though I have to say, it's cool, but rather unnecessary. I hope it's an option.

  • This is kinda long, so I heavily summarized. The real conversation is a few pages. Major spoilers to the book ahead. [quote] "Have you come for what you came for?" [didact] "No. Life demands. It clings and is selfish." [Primordial, or the timeless one.] "Why did you come here at all?" [didact] "Are you again hoping to take vengeance upon forerunners for defying your race and surviving?[referring to forerunners defeating precursors]. Is that why you bring this plague down upon us all?" [didact] "No vengeance. No plague. Only Unity" [The timeless one] "(some stuff) The Flood will be defeated!" [didact] "Work, fight, live. All the sweeter. Mind after mind shape and absorb. In the end, all will be quiet with wisdom" [TTO] "You told me you were the last precursor. I see you are nothing more than a mash up of old victims. A gravemind. Were all precursors gravemind? Are you onlu an imitation? Are all precursors gone, or does the flood create more?" [didact] "Those who created you were defied and hunted. Most were extinguished. A few fled beyond your reach. Creation continued." [TTO] "Defied! You were monsters set upon destroying the mantle!" [didact] "It was long ago decided. Forerunners will never bear the mantle." [TTO] "Decided How?" [d] "Through long study. The decision is final. Humans will replace you and be tested next." [TTO] "Is that to be our punishment?" [d] "It is the way of those who seek out the truth of the Mantle. Humans will rise again in arrogance and defiance. The flood will return when they are ripe-and bring them unity." [TTO] "But most humans are immune...Can the flood choose who to infect?!" [d] "No immunity. Judgement. Timing." [TTO] "Then why turn (Forerunner AI) against us? Why encourage the torture of humans?" [d] "Misery is sweetness. Forerunners will fail as they have failed before. Humans will rise. Whether they will also fail has not been decided." [TTO] "How can you control this, trapped here? The last of your kind!" [d] "The last of [i]this[/i] kind." [TTO] "We are the Flood. There is no difference. Until all space and time are rolled up and life is crushed in the folds...no end to war, grief, or pain. In a hundred and one thousand centuries...unity again, and wisdom. Until then-sweetness." [TTO] They then proceed to kill the Primordium. [/quote] [Edited on 09.21.2012 6:00 PM PDT]

There are dozens of other Graveminds, and the Flood were not all killed. [/quote] Can I get a video or a quote or something for this? Was it in Primordium?[/quote] Yes. There is this whole confusing part where they speak to "The timeless one" (thought to be a precursor). I could dig up the ending if you don't care about spoilers (the ending has the first and only conversation with him I believe). [/quote] Please do so. That book bored me to death and I only got about fifty pages in, but this sounds promising.

He even says at the end of Halo 3 that he won't be killed, only delayed. And nor was it all Flood in the galaxy, just the Flood of High Charity.[/quote] He tried rebuilding himself on New Installation 04. New Installation 04 broke apart. I think he meant he can be rebuilt even after this, not that he'd survive the destruction. (Unless you count being reborn as surviving, of course.)[/quote] Yeah, basically that's how I see it. Dead, for me, is dead and can't come back. I see Gravy's situation as being dormant.
