Protesters have stormed the grounds of the United States embassy in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
They were demonstrating against an anti-Islam film made in the US, which has provoked anger around the Muslim world.
On Tuesday, the US ambassador to Libya was among several people killed in a fire started after the US consulate in Benghazi was stormed.
There have also been clashes in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Witnesses in Sanaa said a number of vehicles had been set on fire in the compound of the embassy.
Police opened fire in an attempt to hold back the crowds, but they managed to gain access to the building.
Earlier on Thursday, US officials said they were investigating whether the attack in Libya was planned, citing suspicions that a militant jihadist group may have co-ordinated the violence.

Well I guess they have a right to be mad.
-
I beleive it was the last Adam Sandler movie. They should stop showing those overseas, it makes people thirsty for American blood.
Posted by: Facts Well I guess they have a right to be mad.
Too bad that doesn't justify violence.

Over a film? Was this film even shown in those countries?
-
Okay. I had to do massive digging. After checking TWENTY news websites, I finally found the name of the film. It's called "Muhammad's Trial". I have no idea why all the major news networks are so afraid of even saying the title. ugh. here's some info: http://www.theatlanticwire.com/global/2012/09/what-we-know-about-movie-sent-egyptians-storming-us-embassy/56751/
It appears to compare Mohammed to a goat and Muslims, according to one translation, to "child-lovers." ... The man in the scene says of his goat, "This is the first Muslim animal." He asks the goat if it likes girls; when it doesn't answer, he bursts into laughter and says, "He doesn't like girls," according to Stack. Other scenes in the above clip seem to portray Muslim Egyptian characters, who for some reason all have strong New York accents, as immoral and violent, particularly toward the Christians whom they pursue with near-genocidal fervor. A number of Islam's founding figures, including the prophet, are accused of homo-blam!-ity and child molestation.
[Edited on 09.11.2012 7:31 PM PDT]

Wow, the Libyans attack us even after we help put them into power. This is ridiculous...
-
Adam Sandler really shined in the role of Muhammad. I hear there will be Oscar buzz.
-
Like, oh my God, why are you making such a big deal about it??!? People die all the time! Gosh!
-
American foreign policy: -America arms and supports terrorists -Terrorists turn on America after they get in power.

-
The muslims kill the Egyptian Christians, and Christians are peaceful and don't do anything back. Make fun of Islam?Let's kill you and burn your embassy. -blam!- ridiculous.
-
They killed a State Department Official, our government is going to be riding their asses for those involved to be prosecuted.

Libya too now? And someone died too. If it weren't for us Westerners Gaddafi would still be in power.

The people that we helped to become free turn around and attack us. Doesn't this sound all to familiar......
LOL
It's more or less true, no? We cheered them on and enforced the no fly zone. If we didn't pay attention to them it never would have happened.
-
Posted by: HALO12325 We cheered them on and enforced the no fly zone.
America did more than that. We gave them weapons and guns. I'm not sure if we gave them training, but we did give them the weapons they would ultimately use.
-
They have a right to be mad. But to skip straight to violence? That's a bit much. If this turn into some kind of war... Remember it was over a FILM. But seriously, let us Canadians sneak you out like we did in Iran.

I think that America should quickly get off its dependence on oil, so it can pretty much stop caring for the Middle East, no matter what Americans do, stuff like this will happen. Just ignore it. The Western World should really just ignore them, and concentrate on their own problems. [Edited on 09.11.2012 7:58 PM PDT]

I'm saddened that this is what the Middle East thinks is appropriate given how once upon a time, they were the center of culture and education. On the rumor that it was Terry Jones again with this bull-blam!-? If it really was him, that man needs to be charged with the attacks on the embassy as well as the death of the American.

It was quite barbaric to put black people in cages, but I like how most of the media ignored that fact. I'm glad we're not getting involved in Syria.
-
Why the hell don't we just pull out of the middle east completely? This is ridiculous how we HAVE TO involve ourselves for some reason. We can drill for oil off the California coast.

There were a few black people put in jail - but thats because they were ghaddafis mercenaries - not because they are black!

Let them kill each other all they want, but keep us out of it. Oil isn't the prime motivator in US politics, regardless of what you hear BTW. [Edited on 09.11.2012 8:25 PM PDT]
