Best Halo multiplayer

This game had the most amazing Xbox Live experience ever. Nothing this gen even comes close to how fun Halo 2 online was. It was literally impossible to get bored. Everyone was always on Halo 2 at any time of day. Whenever you wanted you could hop into a full lobby and play custom games on gametypes that the entire community knew like Tower of Power and classic Zombies. Or just go into a glitch match with overshields and rockets and superjump, etc. And who could forget about the clans. The clan drama could make even being in the lobby fun. Some of my best memories from this game came from all the clan drama from KoG, KSI, etc. It makes me sad to think that there won't ever be a multiplayer experience like this ever again. Long live Halo 2!

 • While the multiplayer in Halo 2 was also the best multiplayer experience that I've ever had, I wouldn't say that no other game has came close to matching it in this generation. For example, Halo 3 comes very close to being as good as a multiplayer experience for me. [Edited on 09.09.2012 4:51 PM PDT]

 • The single and multiplayer blew me away when I first got it. The single player still had sparks of brilliance, but when I tried out Matchmaking in its last days, it was pretty sloppy overall. I have to say I do enjoy 3's Matchmaking more, but I might give an edge to Halo 2's customs.

 • Gamplay wise, Halo 3 is better. But I liked the maps in Halo 2 more than the Halo 3 maps.

 • I should really get Halo 2 (only borrowed it from a friend long enough to beat campaign) and try to play using XBConnect. I loved the split screen games we played, and I even played it in a game truck for an OA weekend once, but never got the chance to play Live.

 • I enjoyed the multiplayer in Halo 2 but the only flaw I found annoying in Halo 2 multi was the fact that you had infinite ammo for the energy sword while in campaign you had limited ammo. It was hard trying to "share" the weapon on multiplayer when people just take it and camp in the corner with it. Half the time you grabbed the sword, you had to watch your back because some teammates would try to kill you for it or vulture around you waiting for you to die in order to get it for themselves.

 • Nope, nothing quite glued me to Halo 2 the way that Halo 3 did. Party chat is way better than game chat imo (although that came somewhat after Halo 3's launch) Also, I had a PS2 and Gamecube as well and found many games at the time just as good. The multiplayer for SWBF2 on PS2 online was just as fun and I just liked my PS2 way more than my Xbox. Also, Tower of Power was lame imo. I prefered Hide N Seek on Ivory Tower. Also, you can glitch just as much in Halo 3 (it just takes more skill). There are more tactical jumps in Halo 3, but obviously less (no superbounces) unless you count the wedge bounces like where you cram yourself in a space that thrusts you out or land on a corner texture from a jump. (like on Ghosttown and Narrows) I miss the clan list, but Halo 3 still had clans (in spirit). KSI was ALWAYS terrible.

 •
Posted by: path1k i see... what! wha-
0/10; but just for you I'll explain.
Posted by: shortD42 is aBK nothing quite glued me to Halo 2 the way that Halo 3 did
I preferred Halo 3 maps over Halo 2 maps. Valhalla, Isolation, Guardian, Epitaph, The Pit, Narrows, Cold Storage and Ghost Town are probably my favorite. I'm a sniper and the halo 3 sniper had the largest skill gap (well I don't know about Halo 1 so don't compare to that) in any halo online multiplayer. I honestly don't feel like explaining all the reasons I like and prefer Halo 3 right now. I've compared the games too many times. It's becoming tedious. This is simply a difference of opinion.
Posted by: shortD42 is aBK I liked my PS2 way more than my Xbox
First off, Ratchet & Clank (trilogy) is still my favorite game series of all time. Then there's Jak & Daxter which is right up there. Oh, don't forget Sly Cooper. Also, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry, Shadow of Colossus, Final Fantasy X, Dance Dance Revolution, Gran Turismo 4, I also preferred most cross platform games for the PS2. Star Wars Battlefront (also had for xbox), NFL Street, NBA Street Vol 2 to name a few. Most of this was due to controls and/or graphics, but in case of SWBF2 I preferred the online because it had far less lag.
Posted by: shortD42 is aBK you can glitch just as much in Halo 3
This will require a ton of video evidence and I will probably adress this later in depth with my capture card. I've explained it several times in the past and again feel too tired to right now. Just for a little sample of what Halo 3 has to offer (I could find just as many interesting shortcut jumps on any other map) I'll leave you with a knightxofxlight video:said vid

Here's another good video showing some H3 glitches This is also not me, but this is all a lot easier than knight of light's stuff. If you ever play this map you could probably do it yourself. [Edited on 09.13.2012 4:41 PM PDT]

 • I never had the pleasure of enjoying Halo 2 online in its glory days. It was fun nevertheless, but Halo 3 is where it's at for me! • Halo 2 set the standards for online gaming. Other than other Bungie made games (Halo 3, for example), nothing has yet come close to that standard in my opinion.
