How do i use it?

Hey, what you need is this [url]http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163[/url] It's a very useful application which allows you to enable vsync and triple buffering in most games, install it and add Halo 2. I use this tool whenever I play Halo 2, otherwise I experience exactly what you said.

Plus, Microsoft already closed down the team behind Halo 2 Vista's development, so there's really no one left around to develop a patch for the game anyways.

It probably will never get patched again. You can try installing the game on a different system or if you're using Windows 7, you can either install Vista or Windows 8. It seems Windows 7 has a lot of compatibility problems with Halo 2 Vista. However, Halo 2 Vista seems to work with less problems on Windows Vista and Windows 8.
