Bungie and their French Swords.
So after reading Iris on Halo Wikia, I stumbled upon a trivia section that mentioned the Song of Roland, and in said thing was this quote: "My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durendal."
It seems that Bungie do like their french swords, but I don't know if Joy was ever a character in any of their games.
Cortana is of course in Halo, Durendal/Durandal is in Marathon, but is Joy in Myth or Oni?
Was kinda reading a fanfic, and Joy is a character so I was kinda wondering if it was a character in any of Bungies games.

No, Joyeuse is probably going to be the main AI of Destiny. I mean, the patterns suggest it. I'm unaware of a Joyeuse in Oni or Myth. Back to the swords, I like that they do this. Joyeuse was always my favorite sword when I was little, and upon discovery that Bungie had a thing for the three swords, I got all happy.

Yeah. It figures, I guess. I wonder what my favorite one will be once Destiny's out. Bungie creates good characters, but they [i]really[/i] nail it with the AI's. I mean, who doesn't think Durandal is a badass? And who doesn't think about how one can bang Cortana?

Cant say I really know Durandal that much, but who can't go past the sexy Cortana without thinking a thing or two. :P

OT: I really like how Bungie does their homework on these things, I would've never known about any of the swords were it not for Marathon. I love how they make a link to seemingly random points in history. So, cool stuff, but I don't really are to read [i]too[/i] far into it. (Making conspiracies and theories ect).

Yep. The three swords (soon to be) represented in all their games. However, we have no actual proof just speculation at this point. In fact, she made [url=http://i1071.photobucket.com/albums/u520/CortanaV/Destiny/b4c8e380.png]this image[/url] to show the representation in each world. I'm hoping that we'll see Joyeuse in Destiny as the AI character. That would follow suit, we can only hope.
