It really is. I know this one girl who killed two of her friends from an accident. Her life will never be the same. It really is a shame.

A girl was killed this year who went to Hoover. She was nice from what I heard. It's a same, really, I hope to never go through that.

People knew the dangers of the road when they took their driving test. It's life, you win some you lose some.
-
On one hand, I feel bad for the girl. On the other hand, I know what most teenage girls are doing while they drive, and 9 times out of 10, it's not paying attention to the road. It's a tough lesson to learn the hard way. edit: A group of teenage guys can be just as bad. [Edited on 05.28.2012 12:43 AM PDT]

It's certainly a shame, but in most cases it's also their fault. Until teenagers stop thinking they're invincible, they will continue dying on the roads in large numbers.

Does anyone remember this girl who died in a car accident? She was so very, very, pretty...she went out drunk driving after getting into an argument with her parents over not using the car, then she flipped the car on the freeway somewhere and died. The photos of the accident and her mangled body were posted to the internet, and I was saddened. She was so -blam!- hot it's not even like...damn. Damn she was so pretty.

It's really the parents that should have done something. I mean, if you're already drunk I can understand. But if you're sober and continue drinking while driving, then you're just an idiot.

You guys missed the part where she wasn't drunk, but was just bad at driving. Sadly a lot of teen drunk drivers made stupid mistakes. It's like people who get hit by trains. I remember everyone at my high school whining about this guy who tried playing chicken with a train. How do you really feel sympathy for that person? Call me heartless, but I don't get it.

The drivers licence cap should be raised to 18, just like it is in my country ( Slovenia).

They deserve it for speeding all the time and showing off. What, did they think that nothing would happen if they went 80 around a 60 corner on a wet day?

Not in Australia when its a petrol sniffing crazy guy that kills a few people then does a dew donuts in his -blam!-box Commodore before tboning a street light.

The reality of adolescence is that it's when you first start making decisions for yourself. Given the inherent lack of experience, those decisions sometimes get made wrongly, either by intention, ignorance, or otherwise. And sometimes, those decisions have exceptionally drastic consequences. Particularly when controlling (or not) 1.5 tonnes of steel. Protip: Fill up your bag of experience before you empty your bag of luck.

They knew the risks and did it anyway. Natural selection as far as I'm concerned.

Well yeah, everyone should know the risks. Accidents do happen though. A year ago a fellow I knew who was a grade higher than I was crashed when he was drunk. My cousin's boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. A teenager that comes into my cafe who is in 9th grade was diagnosed with Leukemia recently. Another fellow I know lost his friend in the passenger seat from an accident when their van rolled. I can't even count how many elderly people I know that passed away this winter. Living in a small town sucks sometimes.
