What exactly is the reason behind it?
As a hetero-blam!- man, the main reasons I would get married to my future wife is to get emotional and spiritual consent for myself to have kids ( I'm Christian), be able to as the Flood says "stick it in her poophole", and feel bonded to my wife...
Now 2/3 of those things will serve good for humanity because I'm evolving it as a population....
As a homo-blam!-, from what I have heard, I would pretty much get married for only 1 of those 3 things I listed before (feel bonded to my partner), and it is the one that doesn't benefit evolution at all!

Posting this didn't benefit evolution at all. Just let people be happy.

Jesus! Can we please get a mod on here to clean up all this spam? Seems like every 2 1/2 seconds there is another thread on this topic. [Edited on 05.09.2012 3:49 PM PDT]

I have no comment to this thread, except this.

It's still not hitting people that it's genetic, isn't it? [Edited on 05.09.2012 3:55 PM PDT]

What is up with all these same sex marriage threads these last few days? Anyhow, reproduction isn't a prerequisite for marriage, at least legal marriage. Also there are several legal benefits you get from marriage.
-
There's legal benefits from marriage, man. Homo-blam!-s are denied access to those benefits unless they force themselves into an uncomfortable relationship, while hetero-blam!-s are allowed to do so freely. That isn't equality, and equality is neato.
-
Love?
-
1. The participation in the "ritual" of marriage demonstrates a great commitment in many cases. Regardless of the genders involved. 2. Equal benefits in the eyes of the law, such has hospital visitation rights. 3. Because they want to.
-
People should be able to be married regardless of their intent to have children. Additionally, same-sex couples may get married and still choose to raise children through adoption, surrogacy, or artificial insemination.

Am I the only person who had a hell of a time reading this OP?

Adopt the term civil union for everyone(straight, -blam!-, bi, trans) and give them all the benefits they would have previously receive as if it were a legal marriage and let religious institutions coin the term marriage. Everyone wins, people are all seen as equal, there has been a complete separation of church and state, and it wouldn't be "separate but equal" because the term would apply to all.
Posted by: XxLarkiesxX "stick it in her poophole"
Sir, the Flood would never say such a phrase. (It's pooper)

Wow. People are still worked up over this? I thought we were in the 21st century...

Think of the future. Man and Man marry. boy surrogate baby. teaches boy ghey principles and how its completely fine to be ghey(its not). boy follows his psuedo-fathers influence. Turns ghey, cycle repeats until majority of the world is full of ghey men.

There is no evidence to support that.

What are we supposed to be discussing here?
Posted by: D Deity What are we supposed to be discussing here?
Whether or not -blam!- marriage has a point
Posted by: XxLarkiesxX
Posted by: D Deity What are we supposed to be discussing here?
Whether or not -blam!- marriage has a point
Why does regular marriage have a point? By your logic, the only reason to marry is to have kids. And you can do that with any woman, whether you're married or not.
