(If I'm using improper terminology by using 'flash games' in the title, please let me know.)
Be honest, if Bungie.net offered another pastime other than the forums, would you ever leave this site? I feel like such a feature would be amazing for community retention during down times in between games, such as the period we're experiencing right now.
I don't mean anything big; just something like a text-based game like Pandemic or Project Terra, a game where users could interact in leader boards and such. (Something other than message boards.) The slight amount of competition offered by said games could fuel conversation and interaction on the forums enough to keep things active in between games.
With that being said, I'm no programmer; I have no idea if this would be feasible on the coding side. I think that possibly making it a feature for Bungie Pro subscribers would add incentive for Bungie to implement it, thus making it doable from a business perspective.
Anyway, in a ideal world where this would be technologically doable, would it be a feature you would like?

If it's free, it's right for me.

As long as the games didn't take away from the rest of the site, I'm down for it.
Posted by: Kickimanjaro Proposal: I understand that the Bungie Community (us), love video games. I also understand that there are members of the community who are currently taking classes in flash animation and game development and design. Wouldn't it be possible to make this a community collaboration (provided we get the proper licensing and all that jazz)? Thoughts?
Meh, I guess it was a dumb idea...

Gnop could work as a flash game I suppose. It is really just Pong with the Bungie Logo on it and some other added features. There was that warthog game on the Halo 3 disk but with no rights to Halo that is a no go. PID couldn't work as a flash Game either. I do think Flash games would be a fun little addition to Bungie.net but the time spent and resources to make them may not mean we will see any soon.

If it's a quality game I wouldn't mind at all.

This type of system is used in the bf3 games and I absolutely despise every aspect of it. Having to run a version of the game in addition to a poorly conceived love child of an Xbox live friends list, a web browser, and a social networking site IN ADDITION TO origin makes for a laughably large amount of RAM usage for a game. Making the option available whether ir not to persure this level of integration is great. Forcing it upon the players (I.e. not using a modicum of critical thinking skills and recognizing the origin design as largely obtrusive and a needless drain on resources) is not.
No need to go on a tyrade. I just thought it would be cool if BUNGIE found a way to integrate the comunity into their next game. It was adding on to the idea of flash games presented by OP.

Why not zoidberg? ... games. [Edited on 05.01.2012 9:40 PM PDT]

The katamari URL code injector trick thingy has certainly kept me busy here. Being the ever sadistic individual I pride myself on, well, being; how about we implement a non user controlled katamari game that accompanies every ban. Essentially, you get banned and a giant ball starts erasing all of the text on b.net (yes I realize just how unfeasible this is. How about you just picture it for a second and try smiling?). We could implement something for good behavior too, I guess, but that's much less fun. Tl;dr - make these games tied to and accessed by certain user behavior. [Edited on 05.01.2012 9:39 PM PDT]

I am for this. Maybe a mini-Community forum to discuss it. Then leaderboards and such. That would be pretty cool.

Flash games are lame. Why not batman games?
