• It's nice to see Crimson leave iOS, even if I don't usually use Chrome. [Edited on 03.14.2012 3:26 PM PDT]

 • Okay now this is awesome, I can finally play Crimson! Hopefully this becomes a trend for Aerospace games but I understand why it might not.

 • So this is my first time playing it, and it's really fun. Would be better if it was on mobile so I could play when I'm bored at school, but I'm not complaining.

 • Might actually check it out now then! Pretty excited! Going to wait until tomorrow, though. Don't want to try out a new game when I'm half asleep.

 • Can anyone explain the bungie master plan in play here?? Why does bungie insist on doing these staggered releases. The games engine (moai) has been able to support Chrome and iPad since before CSP was developed (Plus PC, Mac and Android). How does bungie holding back the releases actually help?!? Cant see the 'pay for ipad version' being a massive money maker for them ... anyone else got an idea? (the games maker even posted a video showing CSP running on Android & PC on the moai site)

I believe they only recently decided to support chrome.

 •
Posted by: ferza 11 It takes time to publish on separate platforms. I believe they only recently decided to support chrome.
Like I said in my original post it is stated on the moai site how Chrome was available from day 1. And here is another link where Weisman and Aljernon discuss the build. About 1/3 of the way down (under "Testing on PCs as well as devices") you will read a reference to Moai's native hosts ... thats the Chrome host. Developed and tested on this environment first, and after to the iPad for testing. What is disappointing is this whole "It takes time to publish on separate platforms" myth, that bungie seems happy to support and use as a rational for the staggered platform releases. Disappointing because bungie (with that same mouth) then runs off shallow platitudes as how the 'support' the Indie startup community ... and yet they are happy to backhand the efforts by groups such as moai by endorsing these myths.

The entire process for Chrome Apps can be found here. Also, I'm sure there was a point where Bungie was deciding what platforms to release it for. I don't think they would delay the release for Google Chrome for absolutely no reason.

 • What did Aerospace do that was so horrible that it is prompting this guy to continually attack them (even to go so far as to make alternate accounts)? Anyways, thank you DeeJ, and let the guys involved with Aerospace know that we appreciate this release. I'd still prefer to play it on my Android device, but this will certainly suffice! It wouldn't be the Bungie.net forums without haters here to hate everything Bungie does. You just learn to overlook them.

Was worried it was me but then my account is almost 2 years old, and noob is on about creating new/alternate accounts. So gues I am in the clear. Plus surely questioning the plan of staggered releases is not a crime? How is this anything but a simple question. And pointing out that moai has supported iOS, Android and Chrome (and thus PC & Mac) since day one ... just trying to support a great little startup team (the same thing bungie claims to want). mmmm ... your not hoping to get free codes are you - lol

 • To the contrary, I've been waiting to spend my money on more Bungie products. And I don't see how your account being 2 years old is a defense when you keep yammering on about the age of the trademark filing. You have an experienced developer dipping into publishing after not doing it for 10 years. Your posts imply negligence or ineptitude, when you really have no indication of the scope or inner machinations of Aerospace. I apologize if I think people should reserve criticism for when they are in some position of authority.

Where in this thread did I mention the trademark date? Plus the fact that aerospace has only published ONE title since officially starting has NOTHING to do with holding back on the chrome release. Provided you a link on the prior page ... go read it. If you dont like what the game owners and engine developers say take it up with them. (or take a deep breath).
Posted by: HiredN00bs You have an experienced developer dipping into publishing after not doing it for 10 years. But lets take your word (unless you want to provide some hard facts of 'inner machinations') ... and lets assume aerospace has some serious resource behind it. So why then only the one title? Why no other Indie developers (hey, they are all hungry)? And finally, some advice. "I think people should reserve criticism for when they are in some position of authority" ... honestly ?!? So when you pay to watch a movie, and it turns out sooooo bad ... do you honestly just shrug your shoulders and say nothing? You pay for a meal when dinning out, and the order comes out wrong ... you say NOTHING ... honestly, every time ?? The free advice ... its Ok to speak up for yourself. Dont apologize for stating you opinion in a civil way.
