ATTENTION! I have over 160 players who signed up already! SIGN-UPS ARE CLOSED!
Please do not sign-up anymore. Thank you!
Sign-ups are now being taken for a 64-player FFA Slayer tournament to be held this summer probably starting in mid-June. To sign-up you need to go to this website http://aj.ej.am and click the Sign-up link. Then fill out the information asked for and you will be entered in the tourney. We may take a few alternates to fill-in if players drop-out before the tournament begins. You will also need to register on the site so you can access the forums which will contain further info and an opportunity for feedback
DO NOT REPLY to this post to sign-up you will NOT be entered if you do. Please consider the following guidelines before you sign-up:
1. This is a Halo PC tournament. It is open to Halo PC players only. It is not for Halo Xbox, Halo 2 or Halo Custom Edition.
2. You must have a decent amount of availability to participate in the tournament. I would suggest at least 2-3 hour blocks at least three night out of the week. Based on prior experience it's gets really difficult to schedule matches if players are only available a couple hours a week. Also if you are going on a week long vacation during the 4-5 weeks the tournament will prob run you should not sign-up as you would most likely be a no-show and no-show disqualified.
3. Players outside of North America need to think twice before they sign up. First they will be playing there matches between the hours of 12 midnight and 12 noon. Second, the server the tournament will be held on is located in Dallas, Texas, so they would have to put up with a minimum of 150 ping while your opponents will be mostly under 100 ping. If you are available during those hours and are willing to fight thru the lag you are welcome to join. I do not think it is right to exclude these players but I must warn them they will be at a disadvantage to most of thier opponents.
Once again you need to go to the tournament website here
and sign-up. If you sign-up by replying to this post you will NOT be signed up for the tournament. If you have any questions you may post in this thread or use the forums on the tournament website.
Format
Players: 64
The tournament will consist of five rounds of 4-player FFA matches. Each match consists of 2 games of slayer on two different maps. The maps will be decided by lottery before the tournament begins. The two players with the highest number of combined total kills in the two games will advance to the next round. The others will be out of the tournament. Each round will be the same but with different maps until we are down to 4 players. The player with the most kills in the last match will be the tournament champion.
Maps/gametypes
The maps that will be used for this tournament are:
Battle Creek
ChillOut
Chiron TL-34
Damnation
Derelict
HangemHigh
Longest
Prisoner
Rat Race
Wizard
Each round will have two maps and each map will be only used once during the tournament
Gametype
25-kill Classic Slayer Pro
Normal Shields and Health
5 sec Respawn
Classic weapons meaning no Flamers or Fuel rods
Start with A/R, pistol and 2 nades
No suicide penalty
No Radar
20min Time-limit
Matches
All matches will be played on the Bungie.net Maw server(IP Address 8.2.0.184 but that may change) located in Dallas, Texas. Players should join the server at least 5-min before the scheduled start of the match. If all players are not present, the start of the match will be held for 10-min. Any player not present 10 mins after the scheduled start of the match will be considered no-shows and they are out of the tournament.
If all players are present or the 10-min mark has past, the match admin will ask if all players are ready to start the match. They must respond 'yes'. When the match admin gets confirmation from all players he will say "Match live after restart". The admin will then reset the mapcycle take a screen shot of the carnage report and leave the server. The time between maps will be set to the max 30sec. When the map loads the game will be live. After one player scores 25 kills or the time limit is up all players should take screenshots of the carnage report. After 30-sec the next map will load and the second game will be live. At the end of this game screenshots should be taken and then the server should be vacated for the next match. The winners should report the win on the website, screenshots should be saved in case there is a dispute.
Schedule:
Matches will be held on the server between 6pm EST(GMT -5) and 12pm PST(GMT -8) during the week. And from 12noon to midnight EST on the weekends.
The first round schedule will be created according to region and time availability. Subsequent round schedules will be decided by the bracket. Rounds shall not take more then a week to complete and if a match cannot be scheduled due to a players limited availibilty that player may be forced to be a no-show.
First round - 16 matches
Second round - 8 matches
Third round - 4 matches
Fourth round - 2 matches
Final match
Prizes: Any suggestions here would be welcome. At the very least the winner will be announced on the Bungie Front page.
Posted by: xd hitman If i sign up in the link u have given me how will i come to know that in which server are they playing?
The website will have all the details, and I will e-mail the schedule out for each round and send a reminder e-mail before each match. Which reminds me I need someone to help me by sending these e-mail out to the players before there match. And I'm also probably going to need match admins for late night matches in the Pacific and Mountain timezones. *looks at Zen and McKeegan*

I'm registered but I still can't post. EDIT:nevermind.... [Edited on 5/31/2006]
