The Bungie Waaahmbulance
Going through the Bungie mailbox can be wonderful - we get tons of great feedback, opinion and suggestions from a loyal audience who we love and appreciate. They ask good questions, make valid points and submit thoughtful and reasoned criticism.
But we also get mails from folks who've been banned for cheating, modding, standby-ing boosting, bridging, and other forms of network interference, all bannable under the terms of use of Xbox Live which you can read about [url=http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/legal/]here[/url]. Now, the thing is, everyone who ever cheated, probably knew they were cheating. Some of the tortured language we get explaining that they didn't [i]realize[/i] they were cheating is hilarious.

I got banned back in the day for using the dummy glitch with the warthog. I didnt know it was cheating. But I dont like complaining, even though I was banned for like 2 days.

wow absoulutely hilarious guys. i think there should be a forum devoted to this could call it the Ban forum and we could see actually how many cheaters are getting banned.

Too bad you can't Ban de-levelers (people who start a game and intentionally kill themselves over and over to cost their team the game) as well. When somebody sabatoges a team's score in any way, it takes the fun out of the game. I think this even if it happens on the other team. I cannot receive the same type of satisfaction when I am "killing them into dust". Team sabatoge or unsportsman-like conduct should be added as a choice for feedback. The punishment for all offences should not be permanent bans. I believe that another gametype should be added; smear-the--blam!-s (or the whatever the politically correct term is these days). A cheater's only xbox live option should be this playlist. It should consist of cheaters being alone on a team vs. 7 non-cheating people, and the cheater's character cannot move. There is no time limit, and all non-cheaters on the team of 7 can vent their frustrations on the paralyzed cheaters for as long, and however gruesome they want. This has potential to be the playlist of choice for halo 2 players; that is of course only until the cheaters have had their fill of cheating and unsportsman-like conduct. Hopefully my long-winded suggestion doesn't fall upon deaf ears. Questions or comments feel free to message me on xbox live.

lol this is great, I've always wanted to see that Bungie was in fact trying to stop cheaters. Will you possibly show us more cheater e-mails? If whenever I get cheated I can look at this it will make me alot happier. ^.^

This was a great update bungie, way to go! I like to see these and proves cheaters get what they deserve eventually, banned! I only wish that more people who have those cheap mods banned, just so we can see more complaints, keep it up bungie, too bad for those cheaters who may not be able to play halo 3 on there xboxs! NOT! later guys...

Just think of modds as steriods. Sure they give you a good boost, but they are illegal and have horibblie side affects. Modds work the same way.

about the ip addresses, i was getting team standby'ed a couple of months ago (against me) and one of them said, quick send the trojan....can cheaters make sure they get the same people in matchmaking evertime, even at lower levels?

Hey......I think in matchmaking it should go by you OVERALLrank not what you are in that matchmade game. Say your a 16 in Big Team Battle and a 19 in rumblehardcore, in Big team battle it will put you with people that 19 overall but in Big Team Battle they could be a 1 but still get put with overall 19 because their overall is 19...thanx!!!

What a sorry state of affairs our "LIBERAL" run education system is in. Look at all these pathetic losers/cheaters who cant speak, spell, or write in proper english. I cant believe anybody would take pride in being an idiot, yet liberals do it everyday, and we get to see the fruits of their labor here on Halo2 (WOO HOO!). Its amazing that all this is going on right in front of our faces, yet everyday parents send little Timmy and/or Sally off to be dumbed down and brainwashed with the "so-so performance is good enough, as long as you tried" and "everyone cheats" idiotic liberal mentalities. You'd think people would get the picture after all of these updates they do on banning cheaters, yet today I had a modder on my very own team, xws x cracker. I submitted his name in an email to bungie. God, I hate cheaters.

WOW! I could not help to laugh at some of thease people, they cheat (Knowing that they will get banned) and turn aroung and ask for another chance. I must admit I was a modder, just for fun, everyone did it, but I only moded in coustome games, but that does not make it right , and when I got banned I knew i deserved it, so I made another account on my 360 and never modded agin. Anyways I just cant understand why people cheat, get banned, complain, make a new account, cheat, get banned, complain, make a new account, and so on, its like a never ending circle of people who have no lives and make up for it by makeing themselves feel better by cheating. P.S. To all you people who send hate mail to bungie for stupid crap like that, FOR SHAME, stop wasteing their time so bungie could focus their attention on more important things, like what the ligit players suggest.
