Panzie saves the flood pt-23(camp)

Link to previous chapters ^^^ link to previous chapters King harlow passed the crowd of anti-war protesters with a sneer. If they couldn't handle a buildup in military arms, they would certainly riot if he mentioned the battle to come. The secret would stay between him, his generals, and the various counts and countesses of the flood. He scanned the area, Around him, the brown and white fields of beef jerky corn and bacon root stretched outward for hundreds of miles, broken only by the occasional farm house. The gold russet of beef jerky corn dripped with grease in the sun. It would be an excellent harvest this year. Harlow checked his small unobtanium short sword and continued to the staging camp for the invasion. The journey was long, but eventually Harlow's entourage hit the light slope of a hill and began upward. Atop the hill, several tents and mulling soldiers danced in the mid-afternoon sun in busied concentration. Several of his own honor guardsmen sped up to reach the hilltop before their king. A nice safety precaution in case of an ambush. Albeit not quite as quickly as Harlow's guardsmen. Harlow's group headed toward the largest tent. It was green and brown, and had 40x40 floodian flag fluttering on top. Inside, various royal furnishings adorned the tent. A gold lamp near the wall burned with a small, useless incandescent light. Almost too small for harlow to sift through the papers lain about on his desk. A trickle of building permits compared to those he had to deal with in the castle, but the stack more than made up for it with troop estimates, supply shortages, road and movement assesments, and one very angry cabbage farmer. Harlow sighed and pushed most of them away for review later tonight, one of them caught his eyes. A blue envelope used for quick messages. It was from Garland, the grand general of the flood armed forces. He read it silently to himself using the small light above. To harlow We need to increase volunteer and draft inductees, Our air force needs them severely. I have also been contacted by several groups willing to assist in our cause, they will be here tonight. Harlow crumbled the paper and stuffed it into his pocket. He truly hoped none of this was required, but bungie had to be stopped. Harlow placed his palm to his forehead and strode away to speak with the various leaders scattered throughout the large complex of tents and bedrolls. Panzie watched harlow arrogantly walk away. If he had the power harlow had over his subjects, he would have formed a crew to stamp around and clear up some of the trash and haphazardly thrown weapons that were making the camp look like a pigsty. Panzie's gloved hand touched the pommel of Achronos' blade. He yanked his hand back and yelped at the confusing mixture of burning heat and freezing cold. Panzie slipped the blade from it's scabbard and fliped it in his hands. Something about it made him want to throw it away, but the weight was surprisingly negligible and it had the feel of something that would never break. The large, wide blade was stained with an evil crimson and charcoal black. Panzie feigned a slice and the blade sung and slid through the air like a buttered snake. He deposited the sword into the sapphire encrusted scabbard he had a blacksmith craft for him. Panzie jerked as a hand grabbed his shoulder tightly. He spun a 180 and his eyes brightened with glee. It was rogue. He was glad to see her, she looked content. Panzie noticed the drips of sweat falling down her snout and realized she had been training. She smiled a large, toothy grin. "Your turn hubby," Panzie smiled under his helmet, knowing rogue would be able to see it somehow. "Ok, I suppose it's time to show off.just a little bit." Rogue coked an eye. "Now don't get full of yourself, There is some pretty stiff competition out there." She laughed at the statement as soon as it left her large, razor filled mouth. Panzie tipped his helmet and stood from the cheap wooden bench. Black heart, his name for achronos' sword, swung loosely in it's scabbard slapped against his leg. Panzie stretched and walked into the massive forest of tents that made up the soldiers' living spaces. He recognized faces from Eros among the countless Sapphirians, SSOians, Coupsters, bronies, and the occasional furry trying to be as scarce as possible. Dirty tents of blue-white, red and gold, plain brown, wooden posts, and blue and gold prevented any view of the surrounding area, a vast field of grass. the rich farmland soil had long since turned to packed dust from the thousands of feet traversing the camp each day. The entire camp was almost claustrophobic. He continued through them, making sure he didn't get lost again. Just as he was prepared to turn back and try another row of tents, cheers erupted from near one of the larger, royal aide tents for Gazz. Panzie followed the noise.
