  • My biggest question is: "How does weapon changing work?" In some experiences that i've felt like there is a change weapon recovery. It seems as if all weapons take the same amount of time to switch except for heavy weapons. What I don't understand is if big weapons take a longer time to switch, and medium weapons take an average time to switch, shouldn't a sidearm take less time to switch? This is a specific case I've found this in: You unload a whole AR or DMR clip on another spartan and manages to pop there shields, but they have done the same. They choose to reload, while I choose to pull out my Pistol I've been packing the whole time. Normally, I would think pulling a sidearm would be faster then reloading, considering spartans (I believe, I can't remember exactly) have a leg holster. However, when I pull my sidearm it's muddy feeling, and I tend to pull the trigger a split second early, causing the enemy to pop off a few AR rounds or Squeeze a DMR headshot. I know this seems a bit Tactical Shooter-ish but it really makes sense sci-fi or not. This would help out with Plasma Pistol vehicle disables. Maybe even have the announcers voice say "Quick Draw" (similar to a "Yoink") when the player chooses to switch weapons and squeeze off a Pistol headshot instead of reloading. Even watching a spartan "Quick Draw" on film would look pretty sweet! I feel as if this would only help gameplay and not hinder it. I hope the right person sees this! I'm going to attempt to send this to urk, too.

  • Awesome update. Thanks for the melee description, helped clear up a few questions that i had. Great to see you guys are hard at work trying to fix the problems so far. Also, i loved the designs in forge at the end of the update, pretty amazing stuff.

Nice job not mentioning the large amount of people who can't even start or normally play the game because of disk read errors, due to random reasons that appear to stem from either a new SDK, Visual Studio, or something m$ added to the data. Probably the first time I've seen you guys not even mention a huge problem hurting your fans, about 100 forum pages worth. Also, why does everyone call the damage thing bleed-through? Bleed-through implies that it let damage go through the shield, but it didn't, it carried damage over [i]after[/i] the shield was gone. Damn misnomers.

  • hey in the pics on how to install reach to ur HDD i noticed that there was 59 total achievements instead of 49. is there going to be some DLC with new achievements soon or is there going to be an achievement update like there was for halo 3 or wat?

  • Don't know why they wasted space explaining how the bleed through and assist systems work, I had them pretty much pegged from day one. The lack of bleed through really promotes sprint rushing, and if they can melee you before you can get a decent number of shots off (which is likely), then even if you match their melee or get your 4th shot (assuming DMR) on them as their melee time resets, you both are on equal ground, despite your multiple shots and melee on him compared to his one melee. Bleed through has been in all of the previous Halos, I don't know why they would decide to change such a basic game mechanic that nobody has complained about. The assist are also an issue that I wanted fixed, not explained. 40% damage to get an assist is way too much. I don't care if you make the assists carry much less weight in the points system, I would rather it show up that I got the 15 assists I deserve than the 5 that did a bunch of damage. I think it would really promote general teamwork more from the loners in the playlists if they knew that every time they put shots on somebody it would count for something. Also, why the removal of Slayer Pro? Is our only option in arena now going to be Slayer DMR? I wouldn't mind as much if the MLG playlist was announced as one of the updates, but since it wasn't I don't see the reasoning behind removing the gametype. On another note, though, those forge building were pretty nice, I though the frigate was from campaign for a second.

  • So instead of telling us how you plan to patch the 2 biggest problems with the game(bleed-through melee and assists), you explain how both are messed up(well, I'm pretty sure more than 50% of rational people would say they are messed up). Seriously, just let the melee dame bleed through to the health and make assists a little bit easier to get overall. BAM, problems dealt with. /shades Once again, Bungie's biggest problem is fixing things that are not broken.
