Online Credit Limit Reached.

I assume this means I cant earn anymore credits for a certain amount of time? Does anyone know how long. Yes I am aware its because ive been playing a LOT of Gruntpocalypse today. I was playing MM with some friends earlier but they all went offline so I just decided to go for Captain (evidently this means I earned too much too fast). Im not really bothered at the cap, Id just like to know how long I have to wait. 15 minutes? A few days? A week? Thanks for any help.

 •
Posted by: a feisty boy think they upped it? ive got 78000 today
It's 120k now I believe to take into consideration the amount of credits people at Eclipse or other high ranks must be getting per game. I get around 1600 a MM game as only a brigadier. (I don't play firefight or campaign except occassionally for challenges)

 • HayatoShi said this:When did you all start this? I am a Marine of 8 years I have the time now to play some Halo and have played the Halo trilogy since it first started. Halo 2 was the game that was for my therapy after suffering from some heavy PTSD from my NDEs in Iraq, and safe to say that Halo is a good way to counter suicidal tendecies, though I don't have them because I'm busy killing Elites. Now that I have the actual time to dedicate myself to Halo and try something different, (I don't care about capping my level because I don't have the time to play TS all day with little kids) you guys restrict my play the way I do it. I like getting all the points for myself, and I don't care about how good someone else is. I just bought Halo Reach to level up and move on. You guys make me laugh with this stupid capping. I can't believe I put all this money on Bungie. Unlike the Marine Corps, I feel like you guys just took a big dump on all of your fans. You guys are seriously asking to be flushed. There shouldn't be any limit on how someone could play this game. Roger that? You know the COD games allowed players to play without a limit or cap, it's almost like you guys rather me play a different game and forget about the only game that I enjoyed playing up to this point. "What the foxtrot, Bungie? Over!" man just shut up, i half expect da soldier thing is a lie and bungie are just trying to keep it fair on the people that want to keep seeing some of the armour a suprise instead of seeing it all too quickly. i no i like seeing all the armour, and if ur pushing back suicidal thoughts because of WAR by playing a WAR game, srsly man u shud be playing viva pinata or somethin [Edited on 12.22.2010 3:07 AM PST]

 • i hate these guys who don't reach it themselves, so they assume anyone who is a higher rank or HAS reached it has no life... during football season i left school at 6:30 pm and got home about 7:00 pm and i still reached the limit a couple of times, all you need is a couple of multiplayer MM challenges...

 • The daily cap is 60,000. Please read some of the hundred posts saying that this is the number. Woke up, got my total credit amount off Bungie.net, played a lot, got capped, looked at how many credits I had amassed; 60,000. I think the credit cap is too low if I am able to earn it in one day. I did not play a single game of gruntpocalypse either. I may or may not have played a campaign level, no checkpoints and farming, because it was a daily challenge. I understand that it sucks when someone cheats and gets all the good things, but when I play legitimately and am no "Halo God", yet I still get capped...problem. I think they should cap it but still give you credits for your commendations and things of that nature if you unlock them, even if you are capped. I mean it would be so stupid if you earned something while capped, while playing for fun, strictly no credit farming, and then you aren't awarded the one-time award for completing it. Now you have to wait thousands of more kills to get those credits. I don't know if you get cR for them if you earn them while capped, but I am saying I hope you do. I don't know about all the bans or whatever, either. If I get capped several more times, though I don't plan on it, and something ban-wise happens to me, I really don't see myself not being pissed at Bungie. I would be furious. Just throwing my two cents in. Credit limit=good. Credit limit=bad if... 1. you don't get cR for one time achievements 2. it puts you at a higher risk for being banned or on probation or whatever when you are not doing anything wrong. I really had time to kill that day and enjoyed playing their game. I was genuinely playing just for fun after I was capped. It did piss me off still that I did not get my credits I earned while playing for fun, the best of both worlds, but w/e. I did want the 1 cR it said you earned at the end of the game. It doesn't add the 1 cR. It just goes down to your total, but isn't added. Also, I just turned huge Infection Troll and was annoying once I hit the daily limit as to amuse myself without getting rewarded. If you didn't read this, at least see the cR limit is 60k and stop posting other numbers.

 • I think this is so unfair for the people who aren't cheating. I played a lot yesterday and stopped getting my credits, so it just makes u wanna not even play it anymore. I think Bungie needs to punish the cheaters and not everyone.

 • I was just under the impression that you had implied that as you rank up and have more available armour options, that this armour would actually benefit you (ie. more resistance to ammo). I just decided to search the forums to see what was being said about it. If you had honestly thought that armour made you better (which we have now determined you didn't and it was just my misunderstanding), I was simply posting the link more so as an FYI. Obviously it can be disregarded.

 •
Posted by: mr gerth19 Had the 'Search' button actually been highlighted, I would've been able to begin searching. However, when that's not the case it is kind of difficult to do so. Where in my post did I ever deny the fact that I attempted the splash damage / walking tank boosting? I simply stated that it gets real tiresome really quickly because I've been there, done that. I know from experience how boring it becomes so, therefore, I'm entitled to express my opinion on it. This is what actually got to me - the fact that I could spend time boosting certain commendations and not be affected by the cap. Yet, when I actually play the game legitimately, I hit the cap. Karma? Perhaps. But what is the cap really preventing then? Sure, maybe Bungie actually isn't doing anything that prevents me from playing the game, but in my opinion a large portion of the games purpose is earning cR and becoming a higher rank. What is the point in playing something with no purpose? Maybe you play the game for the purpose of killing and don't care about the cR. My friends and I, however, enjoy the cR and the armoury system. Serious question here, but could you explain how the armour benefits game play? i was under the impression everything is simply cosmetic? Perhaps my opinion on the cap would change if it actually is true that the armour can benefit you.
From what I've heard, some forum-goers did complain about how they couldn't play the playlists, but others responded saying that it was possible to play without them, and they were able to play. Ok, I will say this, you never actually did say that you didn't farm, but you implied that you hadn't by saying "I actually give props to those who can sit there for hours on end and do nothing but farm credits in the exact same mission, using the exact same method over and over and over again" making my assume that you weren't guilty of it your self. I never said I didn't enjoy the Armor System, I just simply stated, that you shouldn't just play the game for in-game aesthetics. If you've every played games such as CoD 2 then you might understand more. Lastly, I also never said that Armor actually benefitted from gameplay, just that it might suffer more of armor permutations were more than just aesthetics. P.S. In all seriousness, what was the link to the other thread suppose to tell me?

 •
Posted by: mr gerth19 Dear Bungie, I just thought that you would be interested in knowing that, for x-mas this year, I will be asking for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Why you ask? Well it's because of all the restrictions you seem to have put on a service that I paid for. My anger actually began when the Noble Map Pack was released and the "recommended" maps prevented me from playing every single playlist except for 1 because I didn't have the "recommended" maps. Shouldn't the game have read - 1 or more players do not have the MANDATORY maps downloaded? So needless to say, I boycotted downloading the new maps to express my displeasure and actually reverted back to Halo 3 for a few days. Needless to say, I encountered some withdrawals from Halo Reach and decided to just suck it up and download the new maps.
Actually, if you had decided to even try pressing the search button, you would've found out that they really are 'Recommended' and that you could play any playlist you want except for the DLC Playlist.
So here I am on hangover Sunday - the gf has all her friends over for some Epicure party??? Taking full advantage of this, I head to the mens den to get in a good couple hours of Reach. Now the part of Reach I enjoy the most is competing with my friends on accomplishing daily / weekly challenges while playing my favorite playlist. I complete a few daily challenges, head out to hockey, come back and attempt to finish off the daily challenges. In doing so, I encounter this credit cap you seem to have in place?

My question for you, Bungie, is why do you feel it's necessary to restrict my ability to play this game legitimately? Surely, there are other ways than having this BS credit cap in place. You see, I have zero interest in sitting and credit farming as it gets REAL tiresome REAL quickly...I actually give props to those who can sit there for hours on end and do nothing but farm credits in the exact same mission, using the exact same method over and over and over again and find it amusing.
They are doing nothing to prevent you from playing the game, you just simply cannot recieve any more credits, for the rest of the day. Just wait until tommorrow, it won't be that long, you don't have to do all of the daily challenges. EDIT: Hmm... that's very surprising that you think Credit Farming would get 'REAL tiresome' with an Onyx Commendation in 'Splash Damage'.
But for me, my amusement comes from actually playing the game to earn credits in which I use to purchase armor and effects, which need I remind you, have NO effect on my game play. Please consider removing this credit cap, at least for matchmaking, or put into effect something that actually punishes boosters / farmers and not those who just want to support your game legitimately. I hope to see some changes made, judging by the amount of displeasure from those who support you, or I will certainly think twice about supporting your products.
I personally have yet to hit the credit cap once, but that's your decision on whether you support them or not. Having certain armor affect the gameplay, in my opinion would would make the game less enjoyable, and unbalanced. You would probably see the majority of players wearing the same armor set as that may have the best combined ability. Trust me, if they implemented that in the game, Armor Lock would be that last thing the people on the forums would be complaining about. [Edited on 12.06.2010 11:51 AM PST]
