Nevermind, I figured my problem out. The installed version on the HDD was corrupted somehow. I deleted it and now it works fine. I love easy and free fixes.

Alright, I don't feel like reading 140 pages to figure this out: Someone please sum up what the deal with this is. I have a Halo Reach console (250gb HDD), have installed the game to the HDD, got the Legendary Ed. Halo Reach, have had it since launch night, and suddenly Reach does not play anymore. It is not my disk. I've tried other's, and none work. Other games work just fine, so I very ironically have a Halo Reach Xbox that plays everything BUT Halo Reach...wtf.

I was gonna refund it but the gamestop im at says you cant exchange or sell use your games.

Meh just about all my disks are unreadable, grr stupid open tray error. Except for Reach, which works perfectly, thank god.

Sometimes it happens to me. I ordered a xbox elite off newegg awhile back. I've had conversations with my xbox and fights trying to get the game to work. Right now it is frustrated with me because the black xbox is a magnet to my negativity, so when I curse out the game it clings to that energy pulls it in and spits out halo reach. Just my theory, lol.

Whenever I end a game or a game ends mine says it's unreadable :@ and I can't call because Idk how to get my phone (samsung smiley) to type in letters when I go to call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX

mine keeps doing the load failure thing i can't play anything but games in forge world and that's only in custom games mm and cmpaign are both unplayable so it's pretty much fried :'(

Hi people, i am having the same problem as you are. This is happening to Modern Warfare 2 disk and Halo: Reach disk and it's odd, i'll explain you why: -i played halo reach since 14th september, on my 2009 xbox, 60gb HDD, HD 1080i and other things like these. everything NORMAL, it worked very good. -Then in March it started working odd, the console was not able to read disks unless you kept removing and inserting them in the console. after some minutes it worled, but as you may understand, this is not normal. then it broke down, and i had to buy a new console, because i could not have it repaired anymore (in italy you can have it repaired for 2 years, then you must pay for it). as you can see, the game worked totally fine, you can even go to see my stats to see it, i am 70% armory and i have done a good work with commendations. -Now, my new console can't read any of these two games. I don't understand why, because they worked fine for a lot of months. I decided to clean up memory and cache, and it still not worked. so i went to gamestop, where i had game protection and got my disks repaired. i changed them, but something odd happened: both MY disks were working very fine on the store's console. I started fearing the new disks would not work on my console, and that is what happened, unfortunatelly. i have been doing everything i could think about in order to get those disks to work, but i did not manage to do anything. i downloaded map packs, looked for updates, cleaned console memory and cache again, i have done anything, but still, they don't work. Any other game i have is working, these games are BF Bad Company, Tomb Raider Underworld, Halo 3 and ODST, Halo Wars, halo 3 multiplayer disk, Crash of the Titans. I wanted to buy battlefield bad company 2 but my fear is that it would not work on my console because is a more recent game than those who are not working. in the following days i will go to gamestop to listen what their opinion is. i can only think this is a console problem, i heard someone managed to get them working by changing the laser that read disks, but i don't even want to try such a thing, it would be crazy because if i fail i cannot have my console repaired without spending money. hope this may help someone else, and that these games will return to work... :(

MY Xbox is not reading my Reach Disc, and only my Reach disc. I got to play it and what happens is it does not even recognize that i placed the disc into the system.All that happens is open tray shows up instead of play Halo reach.... I mean the game worked completely fine yesterday and now it does not work today. Anyone know of what MIGHT be causing this to happen and how i can fix it?

im having that problem too but i thought my xbox was to blame it had broken 7-8 times so unreal

Seems to me to be neglegent bahavior on the part of MS and/or Bungie. Anyone try a class action lawsuit? !Idea! I have the "disc is unreadable" error only when playing Halo: Reach in campaign mode. All else works fine. Troubleshooting led to conclusion it's the Halo: Reach disc. Problem: manufacturer creating and selling bad discs. Solution: exchange bad disc with good one, how, I don't know. I have the xbox 360 arcade console, and reach works well.

I still have my trusty 20gb xbox from 3 years ago, it hasn't had any trouble with playing games over the years until Halo Reach. I always get the 'Play DVD' option when i put in the disc but after a few open/close tray attempts it finally loads up the image and allows me to play it. However recently, mid-game, my xbox will freeze completely and I have to restart it. This has happened 3 times now and all in Elite Slayer :/ Another problem I'm having recently is if i've been playing something else for a while and then put in Halo Reach (after going throught the play dvd option) it will load Auntie dot but then cut to a completely green screen. This has happened a few times now but i believe it is because the xbox had been running for a while and over-heated too much to play Reach, even though it has never happened before. Anyone else had that kinda thing happen to them?

Yeah i keep getting disc read errors, particularly on boardwalk map. I also keep getting asked to do system updates even thought i did a billion of them, i think problem might be system updates aren't saving to my system. i got the xbox 360 4gb slim. all other games work except halo reach. these errors suck

Why wont i have Xbox Live.I pissed wen i had 1 Month of GOLD.I ruined it because of REACH.Now when i have original game,3 months of gold.NEW PROBLEM.THE XBOX LIVE BETA.New disc format.I wont connect to Xbox Live until anybody says that its okay to connect.And if you connect i recomande that you can downgrade the update its easy. How to do it 1.Go to your memory slots 2.Pres RB,LB,X RB,LB,X 3.It will ask you do downgrade the updates NOTE IT DOESNT BRING THE OLD DASHBOARD BACK IT DOESNT DELETE ANYTHING ELSE ONLY UPDATE AND THATS HOW I PLAY FOLKS
