Disc Not Reading? Call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX for support (see page 35).
Every game I have reads fine but Reach will not load. No scratches and it won't even get to the point where I can install it to the HDD. It even came up as a DVD a few times...
Urk: If you are experiencing disc read errors with Halo: Reach, please contact customer support at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX and report the issue. As soon as we have more concrete information, we'll update this thread with the next steps.

Giving a digital download version was just the lazy way out of not fixing the title update so that the beta discs could work. Hope that they still work on fixing it since this leaves a bad image about the update testing practices.

I'm hearing the same complaints via the Ambassador chat program. I've also got the beta format disc at home and it's my only copy. Will this be resolved. This sucks for those of us that actually helped test the new format !!

The Sept. 21, 2011 Update has caused the Beta Preview Halo: Reach disc to be deemed as an incompatible version. Before the update was installed the disc worked fine while after the update the system claims that there is a version mismatch and that the game has been updated to an incompatible version.

Well... I just bought my third copy of Halo Reach, and my BRAND NEW disc is having this problem. Super... Why is this problem happening? Is it my Xbox's fault or did I just get a broken disc? :/ It looks brand new.

So 144 pages to read, can we get a little summary from someone please? 1. is the problem resolved/being looked into/ignored ? 2. have people talked to bungie about the problem, if so what is the general responses 3. have people talked to microsoft .... same as 2. It is my general thought that maybe they are just blaming each other. If that's the case i wonder if bungie are blaming the tech on the xbox's, they labelled the game for xbox 360, so if you have one it should work.... imo people are suggesting that it's only halo reach that is the problem, its an obvious fault on bungies part.

My game only screws up if I play forge maps. When I play any map made on forge world I don't get any sound and theirs a 50/50 chance that after the game ends it will tell me the disc is unreadable and kick me off Reach. It's been doing that since the day I got it and I've tried it with other discs.

Skwisgaar666 I have the same problem except my game developed somewhat of a stain towards the edge of the disc that looks like a water stain. I had the game for about 7 or 8 months and now it doesn't work. My nephew had his Reach copy for about 3 months and now has the same problem I do. His has a stain on it just like mine. I believe this is factory defect so I called Xbox Live and they have no solution, the only solution they have is to send the game to them (shipping is at my expense) along with a $20 check and they will replace the game for me. Can you believe that? That is an outrage, I paid $50 for the game and now I have to pay another $20 plus $5 shipping for what I believe is factory defect. I am so upset, MS really needs to address this issue where their customers do not have to pay for another copy seeing that it is a factory problem and not somethig I did to the game. If any executives read these blogs please take action on this issue, do not make us pay for our games again if this is a mistake on your end. Some of us work hard for a living and do not need to be getting charged again and again for a defective game.

i just started playing reach last month and me n my wife play matchmaking,we dont do to bad but now we are stuck at our ranks and the console says we are temporaliy banned from earning credits on our 360 console do i have to buy a different game,360,or download something? We havent done anything to my knowledge to get banned..

This bollocks is happening to me every 1-3 games now, usually at the start/end of a game, but more often it's happening in the middle of a game now.. and I get temp banned when I didn't even quit out.. bungie/ms really -blam!- up big time I AM MAD EVERYONE CAN GO SUCK A -blam!-!

Xbox/Microsoft could care less about this issue. I have an Xbox 360 20g. Reach does not work consistently. It crashes to a green screen or disk read error-even if I install it. I can sometimes get into firefight, but that is it. The xbox support line is not helpful at all. This points to a software error. Maybe the developers forgot one of the basic rules of developing software: you work and test with the minimum hardware configuration. I now know why I never went with halo. I will stick with Gears from now on and stay away from Bungie!

its happend to me quite a bit , but it doesnt bother me 'cause all i do i open tray and close again and it reads. hopefully the problem doesnt get ny worse
