Halo Reach Custom game matchmaking idea

We could just have multiple accounts that are dedicated to connecting people who want to play custom games. I made a few accounts for that purpose: HRCA001 - 98/100 HRCA002 - 94/100 HRCA003 - 5/100 HRCA004 - 4/100 HRCA005 - 6/100 rules are simple. - I'll fill the friends list on each account. >Each person is the friend of one of the accounts - When you send a party chat to an account you aren't a friend of, you browse their friends list for any custom games, then cancel the party chat invite when you're done Basically this allows us to just browse friends lists for any custom games going on. If you don't want anyone to join, close the party or set to invite only. I'll do my best to list how many people are on the friends lists on these accounts to see how full it is. If anyone wants to make their version of these accounts just list them here. BTW HRCA stands for Halo Reach Custom Account. I abbreviated them so it would be easy to type in multiple gamertags as people type in their name. Any questions? Video the video is old now. there is no longer a limit for the HRCA friends and you should send a party chat invite to browse another account's friends list. Gigantic update/ General info: The different part about this idea is to have each person only on one account's list so that the same person will not be on more than one account. That way your friends list isn't crowded and the HRCA lists don't waste any space. If you are going to make new accounts, just list the exact gamertag here and how full each one is. I would make more myself, but it would be hard to manage a lot of them.
yea i agree i dnt need some random messing up a private game
Just set the party to invite only if you dont want anyone to join until you are ready for them. Otherwise honor-based games would not work if someone doesn't get the rules first, yeah. This could also work to try to get people to test your latest forge map. fyi everybody, I am not adding people on the account myself, otherwise It would take a very long time. • Not too sure people on the account are checking back on this post, anyway, but whatever. For people who have not realized it yet, I'm accepting a full friends list for each account. If you want to send invites on an account you are not in, just send a party chat invite to the other account. For example if you are on HRCA001, send a party chat invite to HRCA002. That said, there should no longer be a need to send friend invites. There are a couple of regular invite spammers who don't cancel their request soon after. With the new system all its doing is blocking a legitimate person from sending a request. Therefore, I'm just going to start blocking communications of those who keep doing this from now on. Accepting requests on the HRCA003 account now. I will start accepting requests from HRCA004 as the older accounts are filled up.

 •
Hey OP, instead of sending them a friend request and then cancelling, im pretty sure you can send them a chat invite, then select view profile and do it through there. easier than having to cancel friend requests. Edit: come to think of it, you also don't have to then save space to make sure there is enough space for people who friend the profile to look at other custom game accounts. [Edited on 09.29.2010 3:59 AM PDT]
i tested it, and it appears that you are right. So as of now i will not post a limit to the friends list. won't be entirely sure this will work with a full friends list, but i am confident you are 100% right. i'll have to edit this post some other time though. I'm glued to forge right now. :) UNRELATED NOTE: if your account/gamertag has some type of profanity, implied or otherwise, I won't accept anything from you. I do not ever want to be associated with such people. I dont care if your profile says "code of conduct" - I'll accept requests from them. However if I observe anything that violates the code of conduct myself, I'm just going to block communications.

 •
Dude you know how to get commando armor don't shaa,Anyways i know how to get it you get the dumb achivent yay!
Wow, that's the most random post ever. The HRCA002 account is more than half full. Remember, when you send a friend request to on list while you are on another, you should cancel the request before you get offline(preferrably after you are done looking at the list). I want to make sure there is enough room for people to check the lists. It is not so much a problem now, but if this fills up more as more people want to play custom games i might have to block communications of people to continually won't cancel their request. Unless someone can prove that you can have unlimited friend requests or the friends list is able to be more than 100.

 • Agreed on the name change. The words Custom Game Matchmaking should definitely be in the title of the thread. Probably just call it custom game matchmaking friendlist, or custom game matchmaking solved (or solution maybe). But those three words I imagine are being searched a lot. If nothing else some pc folks probably bought this because they saw it had some limited sdk-ish elements and now they're like, "Well surely bungie included some way for the average person to actually play this (LOL WRONG! Common sense ftl) lets search the forum. I haven't played any yet as I still don't have a mic and I don't want to join and then just get immediately booted b/c I have no mic. It really sucks too, because I played one and a half days of reach matchmaking and by then I hated it, now the most I can get in is a game or two and I'm just disgusted and quit. Matchmaking systems and reach's in particular are just horrible idiocy. They should only ever be used for a SEPARATE ranked section of the game. I was actually going to try to stomach some matchmaking just to get the eva helmet, which looks pretty neat, until I realized that it apparently doesn't matter if I do well or badly I always get the same scores (the performance is always the smallest score, lol, even when I go on a massive killing spree and demolish the enemy team and win it for mine). So basically I bought this game, and it seems to have a lot of potential although basically to me it just looks like halo2 with better graphics (never played 3 except on a friend's box, and I didn't buy it for that same reason, it looked like halo2 except WITHOUT even having better graphics. It was basically just a reboxing, except for forge which wasn't even a legit map editor until the users found a way to glitch around its shortcomings) but I just can't play it. After three or four rounds of matchmaking getting every one of my most hated gametypes and maps I quit, because what's the point in playing games you hate? There's not even a point in trying to get unlocks because not only are they worthless but apparently I can't get them any faster by playing well, just by farming in firefight and trying to get dumbass achievements or commendations or whatever they call them.

 •
Is anybody on HRC001 actually playing a real custom? Everybody i joined is testing maps that don't work. Also, you should change the title of this to attract people. Something like Custom Game Friends list accounts or something. The title makes it look like some bungie forum kids abstract speculation.
theres bound to be people testing new maps/ not playing regular custom games this early into the game's release. In time there will probably be more variety in custom games. I for one have not really done any custom games much since I am trying to rank up for armor stuff. In the coming months/years of the game HRCA would probably be used more once people have the gear they want. I am not sure what the best title would be. I tried to make it sound like I have an idea on how to fix the no custom matchmaking problem (which is what this is). If anyone has any ideas of what to name the post, suggestions are welcome. The present situation with the accounts are pretty good. I took advantage of the free gold weekend and played a few custom games on the HRCA001 account. When I was accepting requests for the HRCA002 account I accidentally deleted one I shouldn't have, so whoever that was can just send it again and I'll accept it. My bad. The HRCA001 account is officially full, but unofficially currently not full. I had not anticipated people removing themselves from the list. Its understandable, but I will just have to send a request myself to someone who sent their own request to a different account. It sounds confusing, but just know that if you see that HRCA001 has a bit of slots open don't worry about it. Although it doesn't really keep this post alive per se, it would be appreciated if you tell your friends online about HRCA so that they can be a part of it if they want to. I know that not everyone goes on this site much, let alone happens to see this posting.
