  • i like some of the changes made but one thing that could be changed is the armour lock. ive seen alot of teams that spam it and i think that the recharge time should be longer, cos ive been spammed armour lock so much that i can hardly get a kill some times.

  • If your internet is making you drop games, you should probably worry less about losing out on a few games of Halo and more about how your ISP is screwing you for $40 a month. Seriously call them and request a new modem. I want more explanation for the aggregates/commendations NOW.

  • Okay, although I do not have the exact details on the "quitter ban", I will say this. It has been said that you will not be banned for the occasional quit game. Not to mention, if you do have an emergency or something to do, most likely it won't kill you to wait 15-30 min. The same goes for everybody with the "my internet sucks" excuse. This small and temporary ban is for habitual quitters, and in my opinion very much needed. So please everybody, stop using those excuses to try and convince bungie to stop the quitter ban. This ban is probably the best thing to happen to matchmaking, in any game, in a long time. Quitting shouldn't happen (at least not on a regular basis). Thank you bungie, this is a true gift for all.

  • Bungie needs to put the evade maneuver in for the spartans... that would make it so much more fun and there would be so much more skill in close combat battles. plus the magnum needs 2 to 3 more bullets in its clip for it to be more effective and alot more satisfying.. and the rankings system is sometimes wack.. it doesn't reward good K/D as much as it should.. anyways... game is awesome... im done complaining... looking real good so far..

  • Quitting for FFA's shouldn't incur any penalties outside of stats IMO. Also, quitting penalties may result in an increase of AFK players, and that's something to be dealt with on it's own. (The penalty would likely just be to the player's stats though.) I slightly like the suggested idea of a surrendering vote. As for all votes, players who don't vote should not get counted. (This is, as we all know, a current problem with the map/game voting system.) Thus if a team of 4 has 3 AFK players, the one player can vote to surrender or quit and the whole match ends. The obvious problem is the problematic player who votes not to leave say, a slayer game even as their base is getting pummeled by banshees and their AA capable weapons will neither spawn nor have access. Betrayal booting. While it wasn't discussed here, I'm glad to see that there's improvements being made to it. (As was addressed in a previous update.) Halo 3's system was far too unpredictable and abusable.

  • I have a suggestion for what I think would hopefully solve the quitting problem. I hate habitual quitters, yes- but sometimes there are good reasons to quit, and sometimes those reasons can occur multiple times in a short period. Here's my suggestion to (hopefully) make everyone happy: 1. During any team game members can access a 'vote to surrender' option under the start menu. If every single *remaining* member of that team surrenders, they lose, the game ends, those players have no penalty. 2. If a player quits any game of any type for any reason then he/she cannot join a new game until that old game has ended. 3. If a player quits a game, then shortly after the remaining players veto to surrender, then the first player who outright quit will not be allowed to join a new game until the timer WOULD have expired if the team members hadn't surrendered. 4. The 'vote to surrender' option for FFA applies only if all players vote, not all team members since each team has only one person. In this case, the match would be a draw, not a loss. Re-read those a few times. I think it would cover all the cases: Habitual quitters could still quit, but would gain nothing from it, and would spend most of their time just waiting around in the lobby if they really just wanted to ruin games. Also, they would get no credits/exp/whatever, so there's no incentive for them to continue. If someone REALLY doesn't want to play a game then suck it up and deal with it- unless your whole team agrees. Then, the whole team can vote to surrender, the other team gets points, no ones time is wasted and everyone goes home happy. Say it's CTF 4 v 4. If one team player quits and it becomes 3 v 4, then that quitter gets no exp and has to wait til the game ends to move on. If the remaining 3 members then decide they don't have a chance to win and want to quit, they can vote and not have to wait for the game to end. They still get whatever credits they would normally get for losing the game. The quitter has to wait the 12 or so minutes until the match otherwise would have ended. If someone quits immediately then the punishment is more severe than for someone who quits with 2 minutes left. I think this is fair. If someone's internet habitually lags out, then that sucks, but odds are they will take a few minutes to get back online anyway, so they won't really have to wait around for very long- especially if it's in the beginning or near the end of a game. If you quit a single game because you need to go somewhere/do something, then odds are that something will take more than ten minutes if it's urgent enough for you to quit. You will receive the 'quitting punishment' but since it applies only to that game you won't even notice or care. This system could be applied to everyone, so no one would have to be 'soft banned' or labeled a 'habitual quitter.' This might make those with laggy internet feel less like they are being negatively labeled. I think I've just about covered everything here. I hope someone reads and considers this- I think it could work out very well for the community. Also, excellent job so far on the Beta, Bungie! You guys rock!

  • that was an awesome update. im a little disappointed that you guys are taking out the voice overs for the games. (for example flag taken......flag dropped)But i also have a suggestion that i didnt see on ur list. the new pistol is awesome but it needs more ammo. it has about five shots in one mag. and thats kind of lame. i think you should give it the sane amount that you gave the ODST pistol. that was the perferct capacity. Bungie, please think about it. P.S. The assault rifle is great! i love it but it needs to be tweaked and made a little stronger because it takes far too long to break shields with it. the halo 3 assualt rifle was stronger. the new look and sound of it are amazing! but u need the power to back that up.   • Posted this elsewhere in the forum but I want Bungie to actually read it and here seems a good place: I have a flakey connection at best. It sucks but I usually cope with it. I never quit and tend to contribute quite a lot to most of the teams I'm on. If my connection dies it's often half way through a game where I've done more for the team than a lot of the people that play to the end. If the argument is it ruins the game for my team then why not just ban anyone who gets a particularly low K/D ratio during the game? I'm seriously unhappy about this new policy, the 30 min bans don't bother me too much cos if my connection is being bad enough to get me a 30 min ban I'll probably be inclined to take a break for a few hours to let it stabilise anyway (It's more consistent in the early hours) But the idea of a permanent ban from matchmaking for something that's outside of my control is ridiculous. You're basically telling me: Spend money on new equipment to make your internet better or we'll ban you from the game you paid for. If you want to end quitting then just implement a custom game search option and the problem will be solved, people can still do matchmaking to earn credits etc offering enough incentive to play in it and keep the population up, but those that have a specific game type they want to play won't quit all the time while they look for that game type. Get rid of the quitting banhammer please, or a lot of those of us who aren't able to control the fact that we exit out of games are going to get caught in the cross fire. It's not just and shouldn't be implemented.

  • Listen i must first point out that this is completely off topic of this here forum. I must ask in detail why Ensemble was closed? the reason i bring this up is that Ensemble was a great game company that made one of the best games on the computer which would be the Age of Empires series.   • well, I was pleased until I found the part about quitting. You are assuming that people are quitting because they just dont feel like playing anymore. What if they have to go eat dinner or go somewhere and can't wait? What if their teammates aren't playing and it's 1v4? People don't quit just because they feel like playing a different game. This is in my opinion, why the punishment from Halo 3 never worked. Do what you want to me, if I have to leave before the game is over, I will. My two cents...

  • if you start playing a game..knowing the length of a match and the things that go with it..a person that might have to leave for any reason should not even start the match...bungie does not care for ur reasons..they know it sucks for a lewzer to quit leaving teamates to pick up the slack...im glad they are finally doing something about it...and as for the people with the crappy ISPs...getting booted offline...go play modern warfare and leave the halo to the decently connected...as i said..bungie doesnt give a rats arse about ur whinning and ur connection problems..they care about fair and balanced gameplay [Edited on 05.08.2010 12:13 PM PDT]
