Halo 2, Xbox LIVE and You
Microsoft announced today that Xbox LIVE support for original Xbox games will be discontinued on April 15, 2010.

This is complete bull-blam!-. I really am disappointed and disgusted by this news. Especially after reading some of those links where they fail and outright deny shutting this or that down in August but are doing so now. The "updates" will probably be more useless -blam!- that doesn't belong on my -blam!- game console. I didn't buy a Xbox to be a facebook -blam!- or twitter or any of that other bs. I bought it to play games. -blam!- these updates. I've hated most of them but it was fine before because I could still play any game I wanted. Now, it's not so fine.

Why doesn't [b]Bungie just make a Halo Compilation for Xbox 360[/b] (like what Sony did with God Of War, or Nintendo with Metroid)? It would make us happy, it'd probably sell very well, and most importantly, [b]it'd have Live support[/b] after MS cuts off original Xbox support. [Edited on 02.07.2010 5:15 PM PST]

Ok my friend called tech support and they said they will not be shutting it down. But to be sure they dont i am going to start a petition anyone who wants to see it stay put your gamertag on it saying you want to see halo 2 stay. If they actually arent then we can make sure they wont ever. Also i have a 360 but still halo 2 i still play and we have to save it. Link will be posted.

bungie needs to port halo 2 to 360 since it has a great community plus i remember playing the original which was awesome

This is so depressing, I met so many friends, had so many memories, so many all nighters, and hours and hours of nonsense and mindless play of Halo 2. I never saw this coming, I feel betrayed :(

We got Xbox LIVE because of Halo 2. It started with that 2 month free trial card, but it grew to be over 5+ years. I do have Halo 2 PC, just need a better laptop to play it. Thanks BUNGIE for all your hard work in keeping the game going for so long. Here's to new memories :)

We should buy a year of Xbox Live on April 14th, and then when they shut it down, and we have XBOXLIVE, be like; I dont have an XBOX360, so I'm -blam!- sueing your ass for not letting me contuinue my XBoxLive membership!

OK so shiska should tootaly get cracking on the dlc problem, and THERE IS NO XBOX 720 YOU CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET. this is truly a black day for xbox.... theres is no way they could allow bungie to use private servers to continue support for halo2? like how EA games use there own servers?
