Y'all are salty

So since the sunbreaker nerf I've been seeing a lot of people asking for sunsinger to be sent to the old chopping block. Seems like people are just salty cause it's not like we've ever received any kind of buff that I'm aware of & nobody was complaining before. I have a feeling this is mainly due to people getting owned in doubles & 3v3 playlists now that they don't start with special ammo. Please bungie, don't let them nerf us!!!! EDIT: I see a lot if people saying that the DOT of the firebolt grenade should be what's nerfed & here's my counter, if you get hit with a firebolt grenade just break contact, no one says you have to continue the fight. Most of the time I use mine the main reason I get the kill is cause the other person still wants to challenge me with little health. In short, play smart. EDIT: I would like to thank those who have disagreed in a civil manner as this leaves room for debate & possibly coming to some kind of middle ground that Bungie may see. To those that wish to throw my KD (which is low) or skill (meh, Im at least having fun) or my Grim score (I've been playing since vanilla & don't see what this has to do with anything) into the mix that's fine, but at the end of the day I paid same as you for this game & play almost daily so to me that makes my opinion just as valid as anyone elses, not more & not less. #SALTFREE ✌

  • My issue with firebolts is that not only am I out if the game for an additional maybe 5 seconds it's that the ways to combat the grenade are not realistic. Take a hit run away they can still see u and your vulnerable same issue vs thorn. Also it doesn't mean that a warlock is going to let u recover for that amount of time.. I understand why it should stay as a burn but the burne " not a word I know" should at the very least not be one shot

  • People are salty asf man I agree, but people over use the flame shield and the fire bolt I main a hunter but I have a warlock and as a hunter I'll never when a melee battle with a warlock because the over shield and the fire bolt may need a nerf simply because it's over used and people rush with it constantly you do need a nerf on the range on the melee but only those three subjects the rest needs a little buffing tho you made a lot of good points but it's about equality in the crucible

  • I don't really see what the problem is ya I'm okay with my warlock and I run a stormcaller but I don't see the super as a crutch more a tool it's my Emergancy -blam!- I'm about to die button. Tllaoc is better with a full super so I have a bad tendency not to use my super that often. And I can be killed easy but then again so can any class if you know how to use the tools you have, I mainly go for head shots (if I can)with my scout rifle these days and if they Get close out comes 4th horseman to the head. Yes your class maters but in the general scheme of things so does your overall setup what weapons you work well with and what sub class best supports your play style not someone else's yours. I am more of an offensive player but if I need to sit back a bit and play urrgghh defence then I have subsinger with a Rez and fire bolt support well void walker (set up for area control) Either way the main class abilities are fine I agree with trancedance it could be shortened a by a few seconds given other abilities such as arc web are just as good. Viking funeral I don't really use it that much to be honest.

  • I don't think warlocks are as OP as a lot of people are building them up to be, but there are some things that should me be addressed, at least in my opinion. It boils down to two things you've probably heard a lot: viking funeral and transcendence. Viking Funeral: the intensity and duration of any burn with this ability is just a bit overboard, as famously shown by combining it with touch of flame and firebolt grenades. It just brings the burn too out of line when you think about the actual mechanic of DoT in PvP, which is to keep someone out of an engagement for longer than they would normally be after taking damage. It's a great mechanic, and it adds some interesting tactics to the crucible, but Viking funeral just makes the burn do too much damage. In looking at firebolts, there is no other grenade that has the ability of "if a tagged person takes any additional damage they will die" that lasts for 10 seconds (I don't remember the exact amount of time that the burn lasts for, but I know it's at least 10 seconds). And the grenade doesn't require precision placement because of its large radius, but that's getting more into the grenade and away from viking funeral. Even scorch can have the same effect when complemented by viking funeral, and even one-shots low armor targets. Bottom line, Viking funeral just makes burn effects with a sunsinger too powerful. Transcendence: this just makes the super last waaayyy too long. I get an average of 5 kills per super in 6v6 and 4 kills per super in 3v3 with this perk. Some people say that "it takes time to kill someone, so it's balanced" but really it doesn't take much time at all. It's so fast that nothing can counter it bar other supers and high-impact sniper headshots, and it's not like you need to stay still to kill a person with your lightning. You can pretty much do a drive-by with storm trance, where you just keep moving in the direction you want to go while aiming at the other person, so the minuscule time to kill with storm trance has a negligible effect on your potential map movement. The perk definitely needs to be looked at for reducing the time it makes storm trance last, because 25 seconds is too long for a super (I still think this about hammers as well, but if they were to reduce the time it lasts they need to bring something else back up to keep hammers in a good place). Again this is just my opinion, if you managed to read through this wall of text please do leave yours for me, as I would love to hear others' constructive thoughts on this.

      I havent used sunsinger in pvp often cause i couldnt find a use for it Edit: minus ToO and 3v3 but too many try hards play it so i never touched it

      • Well, all you have to do is look at the Destiny Tracker data for the entire game community and you'll see that Sunsinger is heads and shoulders above ALL other subclasses in terms of ability kills. That's a little fishy to me. I know there are players who've mained warlocks for a long while and have also said that Sunsingers could use a slight "adjustment". That's not up for me to decide. Bungie looks at the data, they don't need whiny kids on the forum crying nerf to see what their numbers are showing them.

            • As a warlock I do think they deserve a look over, mainly with regards to the blast radius of the grenade. This said, that look over may end up meaning they remain exactly the same. Which is an outcome I would be happy with tbf. These replies tho. Ppl be trash talking over a very well articulated point. Me thinks some people don't get enough attention from mommy n daddy

                    • Well there's the rare opinion of the game needing a overhaul in various ways. People call for nerfs because they feel cheated. That's something good game design prevents. Which is arguably something destiny lacks. Sunsinger, like most everything, needs a look over.

                            The firebolt grenade with vf and tof [i]is[/i] a bit overpowered. I love it. Just cut the duration by a couple ticks and game on.

                            I don't care if warlocks get nerfed or not, but I do think firebolt nades are for losers(the absolute kindest word I can use). That being said, your tip for dealing with them in your first edit, is what Titans said about sunbreakers. Look what happened lol Edited due to autocorrect-__-
